  • Hi as anyone phoned the tax office regarding the letter stating you will receive an extra payment between now and january :T
  • hi, I too received one of these letters. no payment dates or amounts. Just hope they dont deduct too much from my payments for next year, as I like thousands of others work to a tight budget.. I do receive disability element of working tax credit, but I dont think thats got anything to do with us all getting the letters.

i have not received any letter...but we have hardly had any post .

my tax credits went into bank yesterday and was usual amount . post office lady told me my payment for next tues will be in on thursday so will see if i get any different amount then.

you would think they would give you some details on how much extra you will recieve and when . also how much it is going to alter your payments up till april ?
  • The letter says we will get the extra payment on a different day to what we get our regular payments ,so basically im checking everyday to see if any money has gone in , nothing as yet . I would have liked an extra £100 or so to go into my account just before christmas it would come in handy ;)
  • it would definately come in handy, an extra 100 quid or so at this time of the year..... however it would not come in handy to have it all taken back at a rate we cant afford and leave hard up folks worse off than we are, if thats possible.
  • my tax credits are always paid in on a wednesday, since the hmrc have not told me otherwise i am assuming my payments over the holiday period will go in on the same day? anybody know?

i rang tax credits yesterday and they said even though i'd received a letter they couldn't say if i would definitely get a payment, when it would be or the amount!very odd!
  • I phoned them up on Monday to see what it's all about.

According to the man on the phone I wasn't due any extra payments, although my payments would go up slightly from this week as we'd finished paying an overpayment off.

We get the disability element too for DD2.

Seems pointless to send the letter out if it's not going to affect you!
