hi
i received this letter this morning0 -

I received that letter today as well.
It's not quite what it seems, if you continue reading down the letter it states that although you get this extra payment between now and the end of Jan. The rest of your normal payments up to April 2011 will be slightly lower to take this extra payment into account.
How much lower I have no idea.
But if anyone is in the know, please tell us0 -
I've just received this letter too, it says -
A change to your tax credit payments
Between now and the end of January 2011 you may receive a payment of tax credits you were not expecting. It will not be the same as your normal amount and could be paid on a different day. This extra payment is as a result of changes we need to make to our system in preparation for next year.
What this means for you
This nothing to worry about and you will not be asked to pay it back.
It will mean that the remainder of your normal payments, until April 2011, will be slightly lower to take this payment into account. The total amount of tax credits you are entitled to has not changed and all the other tax credit payments that you receive from us will be paid on your normal payment date. You will not get a new award notice reflecting this change.
What you need to do
There is no need to contact us or reply to this letter.
No need to contact them? It doesn't state whether this affects working tax (which goes to my partner) or the child tax ( which goes to me) or both. What a load of useless information. Not to mention how it might effect those of us who work to a tight monthly budget. :mad:0 -
I ve recived the same letter too0

I havent received any letter and receive both wt and ct credit. Do you guys think this is just a select few people that this will be happening to or a generalised thing throughout the country??
Alot of my direct debits go out of the account this is paid into and like many of you have a weekly budget and the payments been lowered until april to take into account this xtra payment will mess things up....I guess I would just have to leave the xtra payment and try and forget it ever went in.
Im hoping fingers crossed because I havent received this letter that it may not be affecting everyone.Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time - I think I've forgotten this before.:idea:0 -
I got the letter too but note it say MAY get an extra payment, then lower payments till April. The overall amount doesn't change.0
