Asylum Seeker Can Stay

I was appalled to see that an asylum seeker who , while disqualified from driving , killed a young girl by running over her and then fled. She was still alive at the time.
In addition , he has convictions for other serious offences but in order to protect his "human rights" he has been granted permission to stay here for reasons relating to his family.
What about the rights of the family of the poor little girl lying under the wheels of his car?
Forgotten but not gone.

  • During the General Election campaign, the Tories insisted that they would get tough on Asylum Seekers who broke the law...............the above case makes a total mockery of their election pledge. If anything, they are performing even worse than Labour in this regard...........for example, I wonder how many of you are aware that the 16 persons transferred to this country from Guantanomo Bay (some in personal private jets incidentally, at vast expense to the tax-payer) have been paid over £1 million EACH by the new government..........many of the 16 recipients were asylum seekers. If you didn't hear that news, it's little wonder, because the powers-that-be chose to bury it under the media-circus frenzy that took place at the time of the royal wedding announcement.
With so much uninvited trash turning up on these shores and causing grief, it's not surprising that so many law-abiding citizens are now wanting the hell away from the sinking ship that was once a decent country.

What are the circumstances surrounding the case? Was the car being driven dangerously/recklessly at the time? What are the expected consequences if the assylum seeker is deported; is that likely to be a death sentence? At the face of it, it's a surprising verdict, but without knowing anything about it...

It's really quite right that this government compensates UK citizens that were illegally removed to Guantanamo Bay, illegally imprisoned, illegally tortured, illegally refused access to lawyers, and not even charged with a crime. The UK went to war illegally, without evidence, then broke international law when it allowed the US to deny the "enemy combatants" their rights under the Geneva Convention. The government then secretly (at the time) opened our airspace so that the US government could airlift the civilians into less developed countries where the gentle art of persuasion can legally be a bit more... direct.

It's not this government's fault for having to bribe the former detainees to keep their silence; it's the last's for detaining them in the first place.

He only got 4 months for killing that little girl, that's the worse part of it IMO

How can you kill someone and drive off and only get 4 months, he only spend 2 months inside i guess

    The country's a joke

So how did you get to hear about it then? Do you have a link?
  • What does it matter if there's a death sentence waiting for him when he gets back? The fact he was refused asylum suggests there isn't. Anyway, he was refused entry to the UK and then decided to disappear and stay here - mistake number 1. Then he decides to drive a car whilst banned from driving - mistake number 2. Then he drives like a lunatic and runs over a little girl - mistake number 3. Then he decides to run off because he's scared he'll get caught - mistake number 4.

IMHO, this guy is a total scumbag and deserves to be kicked out of the country full stop - no discussion over anything. He bleats on about his 'rights to stay with his family' after he has fathered 2 children in this country - what about the rights of that little girl and her parents? As soon as you break the law and take away someone else's life and the rights of those around them, you should lose all rights yourself. Simple.

Once again, this country makes itself a laughing stock and underlines the fact we are an easy target.

    Sick sick sick.
  • There is a failure in the reporting of this piece of news: The asylum / human rights issue has nothing to do with him leaving the little girl to die.

Grant him leave to remain by all means. The real question is why is he not spending his next 15 years in the UK in a prison? Where was the public outcry at the time the four months sentence was passed?

This guy should be removed from the country. He was refused to stay in 2001 and 2003, has no driving licence, been disqualified from driving. Since his release he has again been arrested for more diving offences and burglary. How many more people does he have to kill before the government deports him.

Only reason he has children in this country is so he can stay

I must admit this case made my blood boil, I take solace in the idea that his face is plastered over the news, to be honest he would me much safer in his own Country than here, especially if I bump into him, I am sure many other people would say the same, his human rights were lost the moment he left that little girl to die.

Don't forget the drugs offences as well.

This made me mad last night when I heard it on the news, they should just send him back to where he came from regardless of if he'll face a death sentence or not. At the end of the day that little girl faced the death sentence when he broke the law, mowed her down and drove off and to spend a few months in prison for it is a complete joke.
