The loaf I've made from the bread mix is fine. It's a lot better than any I made from following the instruction manual. I would say it's a 7 out of 10! The bread mix seemed to need more water in proportion to the dry ingredients so I'm going to experiment with the standard recipes and see what happens...

    Hi Mics_chick,

    Congratulations on your success! :T

I've merged your thread with the Hinari breadmakers club so that all the other Hinari owners will be able to find it more easily.

So meadowcat & martindow are you making loaves successfully using the measurements given in the booklet that came with it? If so,which ones? Also, I wondered whether you followed the metric or imperial measurements?

This is the recipe from the instruction book which I normally use when doing white bread.

    275 ml/9 fl oz water
450 g/1lb strong white bread flour
22.5 ml/1.5 tablespoons dried milk powder
    7.5 ml/ 1.5 teaspoons of salt
    2 x 5 ml/2 teaspoons caster sugar
    25 g/1oz butter
7.5 ml/1.5 teaspoons easy blend dried yeast

    Method:

    1. Remove bread pan from breadmaker
    2. Place kneading blade onto the shaft in the bread pan
    3. Place all the ingredients into the bread pan in the order listed above, i.e. water, flour, milk, salt, sugar, butter and yeast
    4. Insert bread pan into the breadmaker
    5. Select programme 4 - regular light
    6. Press Start
    7. At the end of the cycle, remove the bread pan using an oven mitt.

I normally use the imperial measurements.

When I first got the breadmaker I tried a bread ready mix from Makro's catering section which comes in a large bag. It was quite successful, but it rises much more than a normal mix, so you need to use less. Also, it was quite expensive.

We have been given an Hinari breadmaker by one of my husbands relatives but it has not got an instruction manual with it. I don't suppose anyone knows where I can find the instructions for it?
