:O What a great idea! I'm definitely going to do these this year, as i've just become a student and me and my boyfriend are having a commercial free xmas!
Bath bombs from lush would be a nice idea, I also keep seeing nice candles in QD and the Primark home section. Oh and primark do some lovely accessories such as silky scarves for £2 or so. I can't wait to get started on mine!Just need to scope out some baskets now. Maybe Wilkinsons?

I was in Ikea today and they had some wicker bread baskets for about 80p. They'd only be good for lighter hampers but they had rectangular and circular ones that looked nice. They also had a clover shaped plastic one in different colours for 39p but I think they'd only be good for the kiddie's baskets.:smileyhea0

All these sound super. My children's swimming club followed this idea for their last raffle - instead of having dozens of small prizes like a box of choccies or a bottle of wine (the usual), we listed the hampers we wanted to make up and asked people to donate something suitable to put in one. Ended up with about 18-20 'hampers', including
'A Night at the Movies' - DVD, Large tub popcorn, cans coke, chocolates
'Wine Lovers' - bottle red, bottle white, corkscrew, 2 slate coasters, 2 glasses
'Celebration' - champagne, champagne glasses, truffles, single rose
'Kids Time' - colouring books and pens, plasticine, games etc
'Pamper Hamper' - massage oil, perfume, bubble bath, chocs etc
'Swimmers' - goggles, water bottle, towel, flippers (Well it was a swimclub - could just as easily have had keep fit or footballer etc)
There were tons more and all were in second hand wicker baskets, wrapped in florists cellophane and ribbon (one mum is a florist, bless her) and looked a million dollars. Even though we only had about 20 prizes instead of the normal 50-60, we sold almost twice as many tickets as people thought they would really get a prize worth having! (which was true).0 -
Hi everyone
I am going to put together some hampers for my family. I was wondering, are people going to wrap the individual things in the hamper or just leave them?
In one way, I can see that they shouldn't be wrapped as it takes something away from the look of the hamper.
However, on the other hand, I love to unwrap presents myself and I think it would be really fun to unwrap lots of different little pressies.
What do we all think?

We did hampers for my parents a couple of Christmases ago and we wrapped everything, and I mean everything. There were about 50 little items in there, ranging from a bottle of wine to little fancy biccies. Took the poor loves absolutely ages to open them all.0 -
I'll probably try to get some cellophane and big ribbon to make them look all fancy pants.
I reckon people will take a while to discover all their lovliness, so no need to wrap each item. Maybe just the bigger ones?
