Your hampers look really great, would never of thought of a gift like this. A friend of mine wrapped her parcels in brown paper last year with different coloured ribbons, which I'v seen for 99p a reel. It sounds a bit naff but they looked really kewl, designeresqe like! Probably cheap too. No need for gift tags either just writeyour message on the paper.

brown paper and coloured ribbon looks well good, or with string and paper labels, you can get all that stuff in pound shops :)

I am doing a DVD night in hamper for me, my 3 children and ED's BF. My grandad always sends a cheque for £50.00, which will provide:

Tin of chocs (2 for £10.00 :T - the other can go to my Sis)
    6 pack of coke
    Bucket of candy floss :p
2 x bags of Cinema sweet popcorn (usually good offers in Blockbuster) :T
    2 x DVD free rental vouchers (Pick-Me-Up freebie) :T
Curry menu with £40.00 cash) :j

Have some time off work beginning of Jan so will make a lovely relaxed night in we can all enjoy together! :A

Due to losing my grandad recently i have got very behind in all my christmas planning and shopping but the idea of a hamper is looking like a nice way to give someone a gift. I particulary like the idea of a night in one so i will be making one of these up for one of my sisters and her OH.

  • Really have to start getting ready for xmas, im always so last minute, thinking this year of making cross stitch keyrings and small bookmarks, want ot put them in crackers, need to find some cheap ones to take apart, will then put them in small hampers with a few other bits. Must remember not to put smellies in my mums or sisters this year as they never get used and normally end up at car boot or charity shop.
Ohh and i just realised that im doing someone a favour next week and working their shift at a station where theres a pound stretcher, a superdrug and a few other little shops, yay, can get some bits then, oh the ideas are flowing.
  • Great idea! And they look fab!

    Well done!
  • Actually, I have had a thought - you could make a hamper from foodstuffs bought in the pound shop too? Or it might be cheaper just in the supermarket, particularly on the BOGOF's ?
