maybe you could do a night in hamper?
get some nice goblet wine glasses (£1 eacha t poundstrecher)
bottle of wine, DVD or a game or even just a DVD voucher, and some popcorn?
Work like you don't need money,
Love like you've never been hurt,
And dance like no one's watching

That is such a fab idea, especially if you can get some pjs free or cheap, if you know the person well enough that is.:o

I'm going to make a basket for my new grandson due in January.

And what about baskets for hobbiests, even blokes for fishing etc.

I think I put a link on the last page about boxes and baskets, but I got mine from Au naturel and poundstrecher. Have a look around in card shops or home furnishing shops, ikea have some good ones apparently.

You could get them some of the same things so they cant argue over that, maybe like a cheap MP3 player, you can pick them up for about a fiver now, and then just put things in that are relivent to their hobbies or personalities.

Maybe a lockable diary for your eldest to give her some privacy from her sister? Maybe little bits and bats of grown up make up, then some lip gloss and glitter make up for the younger daughter.

They are fab, well done Wanty:T:T:T:T

I must have the fussiest family on earth, most of them are allergic to generic cosmetics & only use specific expensive ones, most don't eat chocolate () & when I have done hampers in the past they either end up costing me a fortune or are totally irrelevant & I'm sure end up at he chairty shop by new year:rolleyes: I loved making them up though, might try again for next year when I'll have a whole year to look for stuff!?

Anyway, go Wanty, queen of the MSE Xmas Hampers:D

  • :T :T Those hampers are brilliant!! I'm definitely going to be making some - thanks for the much needed inspiration.

  • These are fab! Thanks for the inspiration. I have started to save some cardboard boxes to use and then wrap in paper, but your baskets are fab. Am going to have to go hunt some out now....
  • Another inspired MSEer here, your hampers look fantastic. :D

I'm going to have a go at making some for friends, my teenage sons, sons GF, OH & my Mum.

I am going to put a knitted scarf in the ones for friends and sons GF.
Really want to have a go at other homemade stuff, candles, soap and bath bombs. Never done any of these before, where are the cheapest places for kits?
