Pothole has more than just damaged my car

I think some people have been a little harsh on the OP. True, complaining about something you knew about is a little strange, and perhaps you could have avoided damage, but the council rules mean you won't get anywhere unless you can prove the hole had been reported, and they've done stuff all about it.

What you should have done, is used a diff name/address (such as a work address and colleague who doesn't use the route) to complain about the pothole, and then if they don't repair and happen to end up damaging your car, you'll find it easier to complain about it. Could also be open to abuse though, by people like me.
