Why did I stitch myself up? What on earth are you on?

I think it was the 'pull the other one' statement you made about 'exposing' oneself - to which DVS made the point that the man referred to in the OP only has one to pull, so to speak.

I got what he meant - but without a ;) face I can see why it didn't come across as a sardonic comment to everyone! It was just friendly banter (albeit on a serious subject).

Well done, you have done absolutely the right thing here. This man has to realise that he cannot get away with this sort of behaviour, he has to take responsibility for his own actions, it is not you who has wrecked anything for him, he has done this himself via his actions.

I am so pleased that you took the decision to report him, for yourself and anyone else he may try this sort of behaviour with in the future.

His reaction when you confronted him today defies belief, how can he not know that he was exposing himself???

The fact that you have not slept for two nights also shows that even though you do not feel traumatised it has had a deep effect on you. I hope you sleep easy tonight knowing you have done the right thing.

    Well done you.

Perhaps you will be leading the campaign to free these murderers

Perhaps you will grow a SOH...

I've just reported him. I feel terrible for probably wrecking his (and my) managers weekend, but I've become increasingly upset to the point that I can't concentrate on my work and I've spent most of this afternoon in tears. I'm gutted it's come to this.

You did the right thing :T

Oh Gwen, I think we're all so proud of you on here. It's a very difficult thing to do, and although you initially said that you hadn't been traumatised by it I think your later reaction showed that you had. Hold your head up high, you have probably stopped someone else from being traumatised by this sicko. :T
  • You did the right thing by reporting him, if in doubt look at the reactions on this post to saying this is wrong, report him, and now well done for reporting him. Not one person defended the mans actions. You'll get over this a lot quicker now you've taken action rather than letting it eat away at you. Remember you had a duty of care to others to stop this.

Your managers weekend (if worth their salt) is only ruined by the fact they'll be upset they missed the behaviour, to be blunt it would have been worse dealing with the aftermath of a rape after a Friday night drink.
Santander are awful - mission in life is to warn people since 17-Sep-10, 18-Sep-10 realised one of thousands.

I agree with this 100%. As a manager I'd be upset with myself for not having my eyes open and being observant enough to see this behaviour sooner, escalated to HR and dealt with it. I'd be so grateful to anyone that did have the courage to report this incident to me though because I appreciate its not at all easy (I'd struggle myself if the situation was reversed) and I'd be thankful that it wasn't worse.

Please please please do not worry about ruining anyones weekends - you need to concentrate on yourself Gwen80.
