  • Hi everyone,
Just been updating my sig, what a downer that was :( anyway fresh start for 2011. I have my shiny new telly to pay for in April (I'm sure some regulars from last year will remember my rubbish attempts to justify its purchase!) On the plus side I have decided to sell my Ipad which OH gave me for my 40th and have got another part time job with the 2011 census, OH has also been working overtime too, so fingers crossed. Other than that I have been ebaying and generally trying to live as frugally as possible! (I know that's working cause kids are complaining about lack of crisps & biscuits he he)
A wee request to everyone on this thread. If I mention making any big purchases this year please somebody - TELL ME NOOOOO :D

Oh nearly forgot my totals so far! £472.69 2x cc payments, car loan & tesco loan.

    All the best to everyone,
    Peetzil x
    CC 1 Halifax £4350(4.9%)
    CC 2 MBNA £6260 (5.4%)
    CC 3 Barclaycard 8500(0%)
    CC 4 Tesco £2500
    O/D £3000:eek:

We bought a new telly last year and went through the same self-flagellation and then one day I realised, hey! it's a telly, it's used for hours every week, and it'll last a few years and in actual fact we really WANTED a new big plasma and to stop stressing and just enjoy having it. So I know exactly where you're coming from:D

Do you really need to do that? You won't get what it's worth and as long as you are paying off the debt...can't you just call 2011 a clean slate? I just wonder if you might regret it later if you sell it? ;)

    Hi,

    Please could you add me?

I will aim for 10k. I hit my 5k target for this year, but have to be realistic in my savings goals! :rotfl:

So I will amend my sig. I have hit 5,200 in 2010. woop.

I will amend my sig- I want to aim for 10k in 2011 please.

I have made a few amendments to my goal. I am aiming for 11k in 2011, however am using the 5k already saved in 2010 to get me there.... (I am a student so I am allowed ;) )

So I will amend my signiture to show that I'm actually aiming for 6k in this challenge, but 11k overall.

Also, am updating that I have transferred 485 to savings today from a quidco payment and one of my wages)

Will be adding more in the pot for Jan when I get my second wages :T

Good luck everyone! Starting the year off well will such an incentive :j

Edited to add: SKAPS please could you change my total to be 11k for the year/or 6k...whichever you think is best, as I'm on a running total for 2010/11.

Jan so far, £685 as I included the £200 brought over from the end of Dec to make my totals even!
  • Im so fed up that I can't add an update until next monday...... booooo

Well done to everybody so far

    Finally, payday is here...

    £500 to Barclaycard1
    £80 to HSBC
    £110 to Barclaycard2
    £200 to in-laws

£890 so far with £70 left to pay this month to Halifax and an attempt at pulling £100 back from elsewhere because I wanted to pay £600 to Barclaycard1 this month.

1 more month and I'll be into 4 figures owing on the credit cards....:j
