Be gentle with me, I have been viewing for a while but this is my first post for me. I have this breadmaker and have found the white bread on setting 2 (large white) is a good bet. Use the recipe in the manual.
I have also tried half and half Lidl's strong white bread flour and Allinsons Seed and Rye White Bread Flour, this gives a softer texture and nuttier taste.MSE Addiction, should come with a health warning:money:0 -
hi everyone i have a morphy richards breadmaker 48262 but no book, my mil gave me it and it's pretty old can anyone tell me the order to add ingredients? and the quantities?
Hi quintwins do you want to make white or wholemeal bread?
Mine is an old model but I did get the instructions with it.
For starters you could try the 'French bread' recipe from MR:
Water 3/4 cup
Butter (or oil) 1 teasp
Sugar
1 1/2 teasp
Salt 1 1/4 teasp
Strong white flour 2 cups
Dry yeast 1 teasp
Use setting 1 (basic white, small size).
If you look on the MR website there are quite a lot of recipes, try any of them. It will always be liquid first (as opposed to Panasonic which is flour/dry first).
And if you search for the recipe for raisin loaf on the MR website it's divine:)0 -

I have a recipe for a Milk Loaf which is white bread that I have just started making for my daughter's sandwiches and she is a funny little devil food wise.
I have only been making the small one and then I use my electric food slicer to cut it into 7mm slices, great with a bit of ham and mustard.(That's me, not my daughter).
Let me know if you want me to post the recipe for you, it isn't from the MR manual but from a bread making book that I have.0 -

I'd use just a teaspoonful to start with, tbh some of the recipes use too much yeast. They do say you shouldn't use 'fast action' dried yeast, but go ahead it'll be fine - hopefully better than fine.0

No, you use fresh milk, not milk powder.0 -

It is a bit confusing to start with, but after a few goes you can chuck it all in in your sleep:)
Stick with the sachet, I've used them in the BB and it's fine.
As for the milk, you can use any of the recipes that state milk powder and substitute a couple of tablespoons of the water for ordinary milk.
They only say powdered really for if you're setting it up the night before, as fresh might go off overnight.0
