Has anyone made the sun dried tomato loaf? I bought some sun dried tomatoes to try, they are in a ziplock bag and it says to soak them before use. Do i soak them for using in bread  I've recently made the cheese and onion loaf, its lovely.

  • I need to make some pizza bases, what is the maximum capacity that the bread machine can take for making dough? I wanted to use about 800g but don't want to overload the machine

The machine does a 2lb loaf which is approx 900g.

I think the recipe is near enough 800g as it uses just over 3 cups of flour and the 2lb loaf uses 4 cups.

I recommend adding some garlic powder, dried oregano, basil and parsley to the mix after putting in the yeast. I also replace the melted butter with olive oil. Yummy.

My nephew recently requested a pizza base for his cookery lesson at school, he phoned to ask if his teacher could have the recipe!!!

I have one, it does the job though I mostly use it to make dough, not often I bake a load in it as I prefer to make rolls. I've never used it to make jam sorry. I don't use the bread recipe that came with it either as I didn't want to be buying extra things like milk powder, and I found the bread far too sweet, I use the basic white River Cottage bread recipe and mix different flours.

I'm not very good at succinct. Why say something in 10 words when 100 will do?

I've also got one - but like Kym I haven't tried the jam. It make lovely dough for rolls though

    Hi,

I have recently obtained a second hand but barely used Morphy Richards 48285 breadmaker. Nothing has come up using the search facility for this model.

Does anyone have any tried and tested recipes for bread (with wheat or wheat free), jam or anything else that they are willing to share?

    Many Thanks

  • There are several mentions of that model in the MR BM thread :) Does that give you the information you need?

I'll merge this later, to keep ideas together.

    Can I join!?

I got my MR Fastbake yesterday & today I baked a loaf!

And it was disgusting!!! Moist & salty even though I checked twice the measurements I put in (using the guide I got with the BM.). Back to the drawing board.

That is a shame pinkmami, have you tried again and did it work out better? Did you find out what went wrong?
