jwil, I'm with you - we've slipped into overdraft territory due to unexpected bills and expenses, so I need a very MSE july. My payments are here and there, but I am going to join you in the no spend day tally as that really used to motivate me before.

I think it's a great idea to refresh the challenge now that we're officially halfway through the year. Maybe we'll attract some old debtors back! I counted up the other day and there are over 40 people who pledged to pay money off who've never updated. I wonder what our total percentage paid off would be if we didn't include them? Might be interesting (one day when I have a calculator handy and insomnia!)

Sounds like a good plan - I found payment a day too stressful so I am going for extra payments a week :D Definitely need to get back on the diaries too for some extra motivation.

    Good Luck :)

I too found the PAD thread too stressful but I have been making weekly payments on a Friday and I like to call it my PAW.

I don't know about anyone else but for me this month has been a long one. Payday tomorrow can't wait.:j

I have just made my last payment to my sister (£700), so now I no longer owe any money to family members :j I now only need to deal with Barclays as they are my last creditor. Can't wait to get rid.

Just would like to say well done to everyone here. Although I only post when I have made a payment I love to read everyones posts. It really helps me to keep on track.

There is no one around me that is dealing with their debts like we are on here and it is nice to have people talking about how they are getting on instead of pretending that everything is ok.

Jwil - Thanks for running this thread. I thing this is the only challenge where I have been able to last at least 6 months. I have normally given up by now. Thanks again :grouphug:

I feel the same. I spent the evening with a good friend on the weekend, first time in ages. We were indirectly talking about what wecould and couldn't afford etc. She earns almost twice as much as me but has no savings or budgetting. Spends / wastes loads on just day to day stuff, but each must have their LBM on their own and no use preaching MSE to unconverted I find :(

That's an interesting idea, I might have a look and see if I get a chance tomorrow.

Well done newlifeahead, that's brilliant :T I always find debt to relatives much harder to handle than 'commercial' debt.
