  • Isnt it amzing, as you clear the debt you begin to feel that anything is possible, were the same, never thought about our debt until we found this website, now clearing our debts is our main conversation, but a happy one now:)

Dreaming is a pointless exercise if it only serves to reinforce your own limitations.
For my familys sake I no longer dream, I will plan and I will try and if I fail I will try and try again.
Failing is far better than dreaming. :)

It's very true, you'd never think it can be satisfying paying those debts, but it really can be. This website is addictive!

    Hi all :)

Well a couple of things to update on - not been around as had no money for overpayments due to going on holiday :) - totally need my holidays and had saved up for the holiday but not for the spending money so all spare funds got diverted to this :o. Brought a little bit back - didn't take loads in the first place so should be able to overpay some when i can change this back :D

How i got into debt - had a very well paid job and in truth probably wasn't careful with this - eating out, not following a strict shopping budget, new clothes etc. - all of this was within budget though. Then i wanted to buy my own place, made sure i took repayment insurance - before first payment was taken and within days of moving in (and you had to have paid for 2months) I was made redundant. I had used nearly all my savings for deposit and survey, as we moved in the washer and dryer broke so we had paid for these and also had already ordered new kitchen with an interest free loan. We also moved from a rented property with fitted bedroom to here which needed full furniture plus a bed. Managed to pay for all these but struggled to get a new job - took on part time work always hoping i'd get something better. So with income hugely reduced i had a mortgage to pay for (bit bigger than rent was), kitchen loan, all usual bills and everytime something broke / needed replacing this had to be paid for. It was a really hard time and am sure alot of us have been there where it seems there's always something breaking that cannot wait eg - boiler in winter brr! - actually need a new one but can't afford it yet :( Anyways obviously in all this time relied on credit cards to make ends meet. Finally got a full time job - the one i'm in now just minimum wage and i really dislike the job :( so working in p/t job and f/t job - need both to cover minimum outgoings and then do MS's etc to make extra to cover overpayments.

Well done on payments everyone :)
