For my familys sake I no longer dream, I will plan and I will try and if I fail I will try and try again.

As its the 6th month ive gone through payments back to the 1st so effectively will be doing the half a year challenge :T lol if its ok still to join x

Have just under £20,000 in total (cc's, store cards, catalogues, cahoot loan ) to shift  realistically tho given half the year is gone ill go for target £6000 for the 6 months (thinking positive....) from 01/06/2011 have made £588.06 in payments... so my starting figure will be

    £588.06/£6000.00 :)

    onwards and upwards ...........

Good morning everyone  (<-- bit early, I know)

It's great to see so many new people coming to get involved with the challenge :T we need all the help we can get this month to try and boost our numbers a little bit after May's errrr.... wobble :o

I don't know my exact payments total for this month yet as a lot of it depends on how much we have left over after next weeks camping holiday to sunny Norfolk :p But I'm thinking we'll at least hit the £1k mark which makes our total:

    119. Deeperblue - £7069.32/£12,000

As for 'How did you end up in this mess of debt?' my stories pretty classic.... decided to get married, move house and have a baby all in the space of 6 months. We weren't in debt at that point (apart from a mega low interest student loan) but didn't have any savings at all, despite having a good wage, so everything went on credit cards. When I came back off maternity leave I went part time so my wage was slashed and FORTUNATELY I found this website which helped me see the importance of living within our means and getting rid of debt before things hit critical point. Up until I came here I really didn't care about being in debt because we easily made the monthly payments, but all it would have taken was for OH to loose his job *shiver* Thank heavens for Martin and MSE, thats all I can say :T
    Parents - £4000/£0 paid
    OH parents - £9000/£0 paid

    Mortgage - £125,000/£0 overpayments
