Can someone just take the 40 posh sandwiches for Stansted that's clogging up my available jobs? I've never seen so many for one place, it's starting to get even more annoying than the 1 billion pubs still sitting there.
Edit - make that 41, there was 1 hiding in with the cookie jobs0 -
That'll be the hysteria that you (in the main) appear to have caused?
As I said my my post on the alerts thread, it's great that people post jobs, but what's the problem with taking an extra 30 seconds to scroll up the page/check the previous page to see if the alert has already been posted within the last couple of days? Anyone that can't be bothered to do that probably shouldn't be MSing in my opinion.
Still, if people continue to post duplicate alerts, I'm sure we can continue to mark them as spam...
Fair enough - I just felt I had to speak up as certain people won't as we know - especially against the longer term members.
I just hope people will think before having a dig.(DFW Long Haul # 240 )0 -
Invoice from the company that shall not be named re: kiddy meals. Hmmm. Has anyone had the ones for the fridges yet?
Re: the alerts, it's not really going to work is it? GFK release different banks on a daily basis. Unless people make it specific which kind of bank they alerting for, the next alerter stands no chance but having someone smack them down!
I know I started this can of worms after I got told off. So if it was my fault, I apologise for the disruption it has caused. But just so you all know, I had no idea what kind of sandwich the person who alerted 2 posts (see post 2182) before me was referring to. At least mine made it clear it was a weekend posh sandwich (see post 2184)! Anyway, I am not going to post on the alerts thread anymore. I don't really want someone moaning at me for trying to help others out. It's just not on. I have posted heaps of alerts over the last few months and I think it is unreasonable to be smacked down for making one mistake (even though I still stand by what I say, I had no idea what kind of sandwiches the person before was alerting about!)
PS. MISSARALEIGH, the ladies in the jewellery store were good, but that man, by jove, he was rubbish!0 -

Mimi1234, don't take it personally - I think it really is a case of you're damned if you do and damned if you don't there are cases when people don't understand/realise that a previous alert refers to retailer xx as it is especially cryptic, and as you say releases in differnet areas.
I think the only way to maintain the sort of 'quality' in the alerts that specific posters would like to achieve is to make it a closed forum, but the amount of traffic 'The Office' or 'Mystery Shoppers UK' get compared to this forum shows that there are negatives to both points.
Not saying their POV is necessarily wrong, just don't think it will be ever achieved on a forum such as this, the only thing such discussions so is to make this/these threads appear rather cliquey and deter 'new shoppers' who may have a lot to add as they gain experience.
Unfortunately I could well imagine that you won't be the only person who has been put off by this discussion Mimi, so although I doubt it will make a great deal of difference to the repeated posts, it MAY reduce the overall volume of Alerts.0 -
