What puzzles me is that you blame the banks for everything - not your £300 a month gambling habit, not your £300 a month car insurance, not your decision to take out loans in the first place, not your failure to keep any records of how much more you were spending than you have coming in, not your failure to discuss this with your partner. But, even though it's all the banks' fault, you are still relying totally on your bank to sort out your problems for you. That makes no sense at all to me.

Get a grip...if you, as a potential buyer, came round to my house, froze your !!! off because there was no heating, saw a cracked roof in the kitchen, saw a flood in the kitchen due to burst pipes under the sink, saw no carpets and wallpaper upstairs etc. would you consider buying this house? No I don't think you would. But thats the state of my house right now. I don't know how I can sell that piece of crap.barbarawright wrote: »What puzzles me is that you blame the banks for everything - not your £300 a month gambling habit, barbarawright wrote: »not your £300 a month car insurancebarbarawright wrote: »not your decision to take out loans in the first placebarbarawright wrote: »not your failure to keep any records of how much more you were spending than you have coming inbarbarawright wrote: »not your failure to discuss this with your partnerbarbarawright wrote: »But, even though it's all the banks' fault, you are still relying totally on your bank to sort out your problems for you. The banks rely on people like me to make mistakes, this is where the profit is for them. The rate at which they help themself to my money is quite literally criminal. I am actually offering "hey, i want to give you £7000 in interest" but they'd rather steal money from me than take it legit. In anything else in the world, if you get conned out of money, you usually stand some chance of making it back, if not at least compensation. The same rules should apply here.
Anyway, the bank just need to turn down 1 loan per day for a year that would have netter them 7000 in interest, and they have just turned down over £2,555,000....is it more profitable in the long run for them to bank on the mistakes of others to provide that through the fees and charges??
I phoned up my bank to ask the charges on my accont from life. They disconnected on me several times and eventually told me they could only give me the fees for this year. They told me a lot of the data is being archived in order to keep enough space available for current records. Pretty handy that. Anyway, my total this year was £1500 (more than my overdraft)...1500 * 5 > the amount they would make in interest from giving me a loan, its also risk free for them.....so I know full well the reasons banks will never help those in debt....doesnt mean to say I will blindly accept it!0 -

Good Morning cisco ,
I see the banks have made the weather rubbish today, and the roads weren't gritted where we live.
Still what do you expect with those greedy banks !Space available for rent0 -
You try living in the wrong house 20 days out of the month and missing all the important calls/mail that goes to your normal house
!
I did. For almost 10 years. I didn't get into the state you have. And I didn't have a partner there who could open and read important mail for me.
Your excuses are utterly pathetic and your reasoning delusional.
Where did that £50k windfall go?I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

Well if it was the doing of the banks, then tough luck on them as the adverse weather has meant I get to work from home today, this also means at lunch time I will be within 5 minute walking distance from the bank so I will be paying them a quick visit armed with some simple cash flow diagrams, spreadsheets, soa's and an AK47 for backup.0 -
My last post on this thread.
You have an excuse for everything, you don't want to see the truth, you haven't admitted the truth to yourself.
Most people with any sort of issues need some sort of wake up call. Gamblers tend to refer to it as rock bottom, on here it's light bulb moment. Whatever you call it, you clearly haven't found it yet.
I dread to think what it will take for you to find it, my guess would be when you wake up on a park bench one day having lost everything.
You won't get a loan and more to the point, you don't need one, you need to wake up face facts and plan your budget - try taking some of the advice you are given.
I suspect you won't and I'm very sorry for that.
When you do wake up and take responsibility for your problems I will try to offer advice again if I can.
Until then, good luck to you and much more importantly to your familyDebt Free Target - July 2012

I used to be a bank manager and I can't begin to explain how utterly deluded you are - well, I can, but my head is still sore from the brick wall from yesterday.
Bottom line - they will lend when they think they will get it back. You have proven you cannot handle cash, so you are a bad risk. End of story; there is no conspiracy here.
Blindly accept it? No Accept with your eyes open that you are a TERRIBLE risk? Yes. You have no choice but to accept, cos no one is going to give you cash.
