I tip my postie a tenner at christmas as well.He is fantastic always early now (never use to be) helpful. if it is parcels or something that need to be signed for he now knocks and opens the door and calls my name and brings them to me as he knows my mobility is somewhat poor.I cant praise him enough now:)Paul Walker , in my dreams;)0

I have a great postie too and have got him a box of chocs also got the binmen a large box of heros to share as its cheaper than a crate of lager! They all make an effort with my 2 year old and every thursday my ds stands at the window waiting them and waves like a mad head! Postman always give ds the parcels when i answer and makes a fuss of him! Really nice to have people around that go above and beyond! Wish I could afford to give them money but I cant so chocs it is!:xmassmile**New** Thrifty Gifty Money Making for Christmas and all occasions 2012**:xmassmileMember No. 11 of Happy Chappy's Clip Strip Club!

My OH a postie - 40 years on the same round! It doesn't matter how much you tip - It is appreciated just as much as a simple thankyou!!!
What I'm saying is, don't feel pressured to give anything if you can't afford it.Someone above said just tip a fiver, and if 50 people gave him a fiver it would mount up. There has never been an occasion where 50 people have tipped OH. It's more like 15 - out of 600 houses, but it is very welcome nonetheless.
Yes, my OH has delivered everyday during the snow, and hasn't had a day off ill for years, as he is dedicated to his job, but a simple 'thankyou' will be most welcome too.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

My husband is a Postman . He gets a good tipping from me!!Life is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.0

I give the window cleaner and postman a tenner each inside a card. They are both good blokes and often stop for a quick chat on the door step. Very pleasant.0

i don't tip anybody. (grinch booo lol) nobody tips me! i never understood why certain occupations seem to always get tipped and other similar ones don't. i make some homemade cookies or similar if i really appreciate someone. It only takes a second to say 'Thanks, you just saved me a few quid!'
