    Hi,

Financial Bliss reporting in for May:

    #29 - Overpay by £2,050.00

Month: Ideal Pay / Ideal Total / Ideal % / Actual Pay / Actual Total (Diff) / Actual %

    January: 170.83 / 170.83 / 8.33% / 70.67 / 70.67 (100.16) / 3.45%
    February: 170.83 / 341.67 / 16.67% / 70.67 / 141.34 (200.33) / 6.89%
    March: 170.83 / 512.50 / 25.00% / 120.67 / 262.01 (250.49) / 12.78%
    April: 170.83 / 683.33 / 33.33% / 200.00 / 462.01 (221.32) / 22.54%
    May: 170.83 / 854.17 / 41.67% / 200.00 / 662.01 (192.16) / 32.29%

    Total overpaid: £662.01

So, £200 overpayment (into savings) for May takes my deficit from the ideal down from 221.32 to 192.16

Things are getting very tight in the bliss household - if we can maintain a £200 OP each month, we will exceed the goal, but not until December

And you guessed it, any spare cash will go towards overpayments.

    Off to update the form...

May payment just off for this month. Paid £938, an overpayment of £500. Looks like my annual target will be beaten in just over 6 months.

This further advance was 3 year term, now after overpayments, it is down to 2 years. If I can keep going at this rate it will be cleared this year.

The other part of mortgage is on track to be cleared by end 2013, after clearing further advance part I will switch overpayments and target to clear by end of 2012.

I would like to encourage everyone to keep at it, you know it makes sense. :T

    Hello all,

April OP total £122- only because I'm an OP addict.:o.
We're still paying out weekly for work on the house, labour and materials- but its nearly finished. :j
Baby only a month away if he/she appears on time.:p:p:p.

Finished work Friday for 2 weeks holiday then maternity leave so will have a big drop in income soon- also told in my last week that one of my dept will be made redundant. I have to complete the form from hell to basically make myself look better than the other 4 people- horrible, but hopefully somebody will get another job so the process just gets halted. Thank goodness we've been overpaying on the mortgage so our minimum payment is lots less than it used to be.... stay low interest rates please!!! Just wish I didn't have to fill in the stupid form- all I want to do is get ready for baby .
So goals for next few weeks: fill in dreaded form and sell some dvds on ebay to allow an OP in May, already taken all our videos to charity.
    Take care,
    a very round fluffysox xx

To update- had some good news, one of my colleagues has accepted a job elsewhere so will not be losing my job- hurrah! Spent loads of time filling in stupid form- over 2500 words and only 2/3 way through- thank goodness i can leave the rest.:beer::beer: would crack open the champers if I wasn't pregnant:rotfl::rotfl:.
Ebay hasn't happened so far... I'm sending loads of stuff to charity shop instead as I was struggling with bending and lifting even before I fractured my wrist this week. Need to make space so OH has helped me fill the car boot. (Thankfully fracture is only a little crack so although I can't really use my left hand at the moment it should heal OK)
Now all we need is OH to be made permanent- his sixth month contract ends this month- around baby's due date;).
2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.
    MFW OPd 2014 £2000 2013 £9700 2012 £2848.39 2011 £2509.58 2010 £11000 2009 £112002008 £4939 :D

    Hi everyone,

I've been away for a week so am a bit late with my Apr total but I managed an overpayment of £733.42 :j

Now to update the spreadsheet... This month, I think i'll be missing the target as I'm expecting a hefty credit card bill and there's a few other big spends coming up but luckily I've been doing well with my monthly targets so it shouldn't throw me off too much.

    Good morning all

Hope you are all well & enjoyed your 2nd long BH weekend - although it seems that more and more people have to work them nowadays which I think is a great shame but I guess that's life. I really appreciated the time off actually.

Cake - have updated via Google Docs, I've OP'd today £208. That's just my regular/budgeted OP. No great shakes. Cash forecast is looking poorly :rotfl:. If I eek anything else out of my budget during May it would only be £20 or so. No big bills recently or expected (except Holiday booking :o and Car Ins next month ) but such a lot of money seems to be going on small niggly things at the moment. The cost of living is making things really quite tight I think.

No financial matters of great import to report

I've moved my cash ISA to get 0.5% extra interest. At present I don't count its balance as an offset against the mortgage but I guess in the future that's what I will use it for.

I currently have a very healthy savings balance (all in ISA's) but I've no plans to use any of it as an OP - I just can't make that leap. After having no savings and really struggling to build them up to provide a security blanket, I just can't let them go.......yet.

I also have a Stocks & Shares ISA - I opened this several years ago and it's only with the Halifax and I only pay a very small amount per month in - hardly worth bothering with really. Now I'm a little more financially savvy (just a little) this is on my hit list of things to sort out in the coming months - am considering moving it to get better value for my money and also increasing the amount I put in - this will mean diverting money away from my OP budget though. So I need to make sure that the long term performance is likely (the value of investments can go down as well as up blah blah blah) to be better than the 3.5% SVR. Does anyone else here have a S&S ISA? I know there are a number of threads but I till feel a little out of depth at the moment.....and the trouble is, I do love seeing that balance go down.

Fingers crossed for the Base Rate - making hay whilst the sun shines.

Mortgage Balance after standard and Over payments hit the account is expected to be around £32716. Without OP's it would be around £42852 :D

  • Number 119 reporting a £400 overpayment for May. Curlygirl - I know where you're coming from on the savings thing. I actually have enough now to clear my mortgage but I'd rather keep it where it is and keep chipping away on the mortgage, hoping to clear it by the end of the year and will be a great feeling to still have my savings intact. Lucky I guess at the moment that my mortgage interest rate is so low

I dont think there is a right way or a wrong way, as long as we're all heading in the right direction!

    Good luck all
