When you master these you master the hardship ongoing so much easier too clearing such debts and doing without.
Was a very hard lesson/s to learn at the start though! The depression that financial difficultly caused at the start taught me it - being 3 times your annual incoming in debt is a hard lesson to learn, as was 65%+ of my debt the ex and a lifelong 'friend' caused and left me up a sewage river with no paddle, karma though... in the long term I win.
Even going off sick years later for physical problems I held my ground and carried on, even with the stress DWP cause claimants -they lying had me in tears a few times, more than the debts ever did. The whole experience has made me a better even more compassionate human being, I have taken more time to help people with depression, bipolar, drink and drug issues and dementia and that is pricelessI have learnt not to help others financially too, other than teach them my ways of money handling, MSE'ing etc lol
For any scots on the board offering £5 a month to any debt should stave off court action with a incomings and outgoings breakdown (a financial helper at CAB who wanted to know if I done it properly!? then said you have nothing for clothing and recreational in it, I said I make do, the internet is a source of entertainment, bargains and education) when I could pay more I did.
The biggest single debt was BOS unsecured loan just under £9000 who miss sold me PPI on it I could not use and I refused to pay anything...I told them they will never get a payment until it drops off my credit file because of this and I guess they thought the default was enough punishment for 6 years, they knew taking court action they would not win because I had them over a barrel on mis-selling PPI and never got 1 more letter the following 4 and a half years I also paid nil and it dropped off my credit file.
Hard ball and hard slog...anyone can do it, if I did...just dont let the mental stress side take priority over the focus of being debt freeSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
