Happy Birthday Bramble-glad you're having a nice day.
Bitsy- so pleased the play went well :j
Hester- I filled up a bit too when I read your post-well done you:)

NPM- great news about your mum and dad being on the train.Wishing you a wonderful day,I'm sure it'll be amazing after all the thought and preparation you have put into planning it,and a long and happy life together.

I've still got some crisps so I'll bring them to the hen night RR,and some pear cider :D

    Esmf-like the burning worries idea.

I feel a bit better now as I've actually bought some bits and bats for Dsons- a cheque arrived that DH has been waiting weeks for :j.Now if the last one we are owed would come ,that would be great, but not holding my breath.
Went to the retail park on the bus,but couldnt really carry all I wanted ,though I had my trolley,I had bought DH a cheap kettle so they can brew up at work instead of the flasks (and use the clients leccy :rotfl:)

Meat pie and chipsfor tea, nice and warming when they come in frozen from work.I've sent some of my cards off, need to buy more stamps tomorrow.

  • Afternoon everybody

Was up early for me this morning so I could get ready to go and do my charity visit. Even with the wood burner on all night, it was a chilly 9 degrees in the house :(

The car wouldn't start again, but OH's did - shame it was blocked in by the non-starting one! Finally got it sorted then took it for a half hour drive, so was late for my visit... Anyway, when I came home this afternoon it started again, so drove around for an hour to give the battery some charge as I think that's the problem.

British Gas called too to say they weren't coming out for their scheduled appointment. It was only when I told the lady on the phone that I had water running out of the bottom of my boiler that she said she would make sure someone came out today, even if it was in the evening. It's nice to know that the £200 odd we pay every year guarantees us such good service

So, it's now a balmy 11 degrees in the house as I've turned the log burner's vents up; it means I'm going through wood like nobody's business but I'm past caring. I'm sat on the sofa under a duvet with the dog snuggled under it too. I hope BG come soon. I've had an offer to visit my friend and stay there, but have to wait until BG come before I know what's happening; if it gets too bad, I can always go to my mum's :o

So another non-OS day. On the up side, the trainee I did the visit with is fast becoming a good friend and we had a really good chat :). Also the cross stitch I ordered came so I can start that; it's a bit daunting as it's quite large, but I only paid £19.99 instead of £52.99 as it was on sale :T

Dinner tonight is homemade fish and chips, and I imagine I'll remain in the living room until either the heating's fixed, I stay somewhere else, or I tough it out and go to bed - I had a reinedeer skin under the sheet last night, 2 duvets, jogging bottoms, a long sleeved t-shirt and a dog in bed last night, and was quite toasty!

NPM - have a great day tomorrow - you've worked hard for this, and I wish you all the happiness in the world tomrrow and all the days after :happyhear

    Hello everyone
I haven't managed to post for a few days, as my DD has been off school with a horrible cold (very chesty), and now she has a tummy bug so has been vomiting all day too :( So one unhappy girl, which makes an unhappy mummy.

I just wanted to wish NPM all the best for the wedding tomorrow - I'm sorry but I haven't had chance to read anyone else's messages, will try to catch up when DD is on the mend. Hope everyone else is managing to stay healthy and warm

    Jo xx

Hope you have a fabulous day NPM and happiness for the rest of your lives - enjoy! :smileyhea Also glad to hear that your M&D are on the train.

Happy Birthday to Pollys DD :bdaycake:

Your happiness brought a lump to my throat Bitsy, you have every reason to be a proud mum.

Been out for some supplies this afternoon and bumped into a friend so went to hers for a lovely hot chocolate. So nice to be out for a while but the temperature hasn't got above -8! Discovered that the pipes to and from the dishwasher were frozen this morning so pulled it out (some serious dirt under there!) and put a little fan heater in for a while. Thankfully that worked and a major disaster averted. Will leave the dishwasher out tonight and put the oil filled rad nearby to see if that helps!

Popped into farmfoods for my beloved doritos (for the party later you understand) and they were just getting a delivery of bread, gosh there was a crush, apparently there is a shortage around here. I had given my supply from the freezer to a friend with children so managed to get a couple of loaves to replace them.

Hope you all keep warm and safe. See you at the hen party later! XX
