Happy Birthday Bramble1, all the December babies are happy ones. I had two ,one on the 2nd, and one on the 19th and one of my DGS is on 16th.So christmas is a very jolly time for us all. For years I wasn't keen on christmas as I lost my lovely Mum on 14th and she was buried on 24th which would have been her 63rd birthday so Christmas was a bit of a sad time for a long time .Then I had my two babies in December and things brightened up.it is sometimes a sad and lonely time for a lot of people ,especially if they have lost a loved on during the year. But life does go on and I know my first Christmas after I lost my husband was hard but my two Dds and grandchildren were there and we all got through it by remembering all the good ones that we had all enjoyed.
Today I am off down to the savacentre to pick up our travel vouchers for the hotel next week and the footie tickets for my son-in-law and two DGS's.I will probably be picking the boys up from school this afternoon as Dd and her OH are christmas shopping all day for the tribe.
Last nights steak was gorgeous and just melted in the mouth, I am saving the other bit in the freezer for after Christmas when January is a long month and its nice to have a treat to look forward to.
Right well I'd better get a wriggle on or I won't get a parking spot.
Take care all and wrap up warm as its still very icy out there

just done my cleaning and have popped a spud in the oven for lunch, got some leeks roasting too as I've a bit of left over cheese sauce so that will go nicely with my spud.
I've fetched my christmas tree from up the garden(its in a pot) and popped it in the shed to acclimatise for a couple of days before bringing it in the house. We got it last year and its grown well through the year with some tlc from Taplore and some pigeon poo fertilizer:D
Am looking forward to the hen night! see you all later x

I am also going to take a very large PROUD MOMMY MOMENT. DS was fantastic in his production. He was a dressed as a star, no speaking part but he sang (VERY LOUD) and did all the actions (even a little bit of jigging on the spot - perhaps a dancer in the making). A far cry from the nose picking vacant little boy from last year. I confess a wee tear did roll down my face and H was chuffed to bits to have booked the day off to see it. His SENCO came up to me (the headteacher actually) to tell me how pleased they were with him so am pleased as punch this lunchtime.

Just back from the shopping centre and managed to get the last £10.00 gammon joint in Sainsbugs for DD.It looks really nice and lean and I will cook it for her on Christmas Eve so it will be ready to slice nicely on Christmas day at tea time.
I am very pleased as my local butcher wanted almost £20.00 for the same weight. So apart from making the sausage rolls by the dozen for my DDs my Christmas food shopping is all done now .I have to split myself between the two families from Christmas Eve until New Years day so I am not at home for almost a weeek.I buy the extra bits for the two girls to help out but don't have to buy anything for in my house at all. I usually end up with all the left over bits when they need room in their cupboards .You know the sort of thing half empty pickles, cheese crackers ect and the coconut sweets from the big chocolate tins as I am the only one who likes coconut. Its quite handy actually as I don't mind as it helps to fill the long month of January when the bills come in so I am always pleased to take away the bits they are fed up of .I just hate to waste anything.0 -
Thank you all for the birthday wishes!
