Middle rate care and low mobility is what I get which is apparently what your wife provides. This is the wife who can't get about and needs to use a commode in the kitchen!

As I have already said, between us we manage.
That doesn't mean to say that it is easy! Yes I clean my wife I do lots of things for her. I carry things that she can't manage. We have as much delivered to our door as is possible.
There are 1000's of older people that sit in a chair all day on their own, unable to get about much, have no one to look after them. THEY are the ones that need the help not the likes of older people like us that manage and cope OK.

To be honest I wouldn't dream of asking for financial help for my care, it would be dishonest. What I am trying to tell you is that couples like us that just about get through each day, think of others who are in a lot more difficulties. I cannot see the reason for any extra money - what will it help us with?
Which brings me back to what I said days ago - those that get the help from family, friends, charities etc are not as much in need as those that are left on their own all day.
What you get already from those sources should be taken into account when assessing someone for DLA - payments/help should only be given in respect of the help not currently provided.

So, you clean your wife, when she is not driving your around and providing for you financially and using the commode.

Its all rather confusing and very tedious reading.

I don't think that you have made an erudite rational case for ending this benefit, though you've made a somewhat befuddled case for your not needing it. Lets leave it at that!!

You know exactly what I am talking about and mean.
Or is it that you are unable to comprehend anything other than the simplest of statements - and most probably have great difficulty in understanding any word of more than 4 letters or 2 syllables!!

OLDSTROKER ,I have to agree, there are too many people on DLA ,ESA, and im glad for one that this gorvernment is sorting out the frauds from the genuine claiments .Some people have made a laughing stock of this benefit and its seems everyone has a disability nowadays, they just want extra money for sitting on their !!!.

    Exactly so!!

It's a pity that the rest of posters on here can't see the wood for the trees!

UK Plc is a joke, the rest of Europe think so, and until we sort out the attitude of 'always something for nothing' we will not be thought of as anything different.

An absolute load of spongers on the hard working.

And what or how does that comment add any quality to the topic under discussion?

Oh yes sorry, you do have difficulty in understanding anything but the simplest of comments!

    its just my opinion
Mum/carer to Dallas who has Aicardi Syndrome, everyday i look at you makes my life fulfilled.
  • If this does happen I hope the forms will be a lot easier!
I consider myself to be quite intelligent and It took me over a week to fill out the forms, it was rather exhausting, I was given tips by a few people to exaggerate, but had no need to as the situation was bad enough.
I know they wrote to my sons teacher and to our specialist support worker, yet they never wrote to his CAMHS Dr which I found strange, I applied before my son was diagnosed so could reapply and maybe he would be entitled to more, I won't be doing that though just because of the forms.

Here we go again! [STRIKE]Gemma[/STRIKE]/[STRIKE]Andy[/STRIKE] Are you not taking your ESA claim to tribunal yourself? This does seem to be rather contradictory to your postings on this thread?
Just in case you were wondering (some have)..... I'm a woman!

I do love it when people go "everyone knows someone claiming DLA fraudulenty" when clearly they dont, have no proof and if they did they would shopped the person and had them investigated, there is no facts it is entirely just your opinion and if you had half a brain cell you would see the maths dont add up when you see how many people they want to get off DLA, genuine people who need it ARE going to miss out because the goverment needs to save money, some people can harp on as much as they like about people playing the system but are infact either bitter or got too much time on their hands, busy bodies who hate to see someone get something that they think IN THERE OPINION they dont deserve.
