Id have a chat upfront about what you're both doing for xmas, plans, budget etc.... If after that he still decides to get you something expensive after you have said you can't afford much, the words you are looking for are 'Thank You'Light Bulb Moment - 11th Nov 2004 - Debt Free Day - 25th Mar 2011 :j0

Maybe he and his Mum feel you're so lovely that you really deserve something special! If they do treat you, please don't feel guilty - appreciate their gifts and thank them. You wouldn't like to think your brother felt guilty because you spend money on him that he doesn't give back to you, would you?0 -
Please just enjoy xmas and don't stress you stated budgets when you spoke to your bf if he chooses to spend more that's up to him he obviously thinks you deserve it.
Relax and have a lovely christmas.0 -
Don't worry, you did say no more than £50. Just get him what you can afford.0

its not what it costs, its the thought that goes into it. I couldn't personally afford to spend on my other half what he spends on me, but what I do buy him is bought very much with him mind showing I have noticed and listened to what he's said.
His eldest daughter bought me a mug for christmas last year, couldn't have cost more than £5, it said " I can only please one person at a time and today that person is me" I had met her for coffee the week previously and was saying I was feeling stretched with demands coming from all over. That was my best present that year, she had seen it after we had met and thought of me. She could have spent £100 on a pair of gold earrrings and they wouldn't have meant so much.
Your spoiling your brother, he's spoiling you, we all deserve to be spoiled at some time:rotfl: l love this site!! :rotfl:0 -

If you give something with monetary value, you can alway earn more money. If you give your time, you can never get it back. Give your time, it is far more valuable than money.0
