    I'm in!

Find myself quite low on cash but my start is here:

-Found £6 in £2 coins, started £2 challenge and will use this.
-Started £1 a day and have put in £2 thought is was the 2nd not the 1st... so ahead there!
    - Already have a money pot but will stricter with myself and not dip in.
-Have listed one item on ebay so far.
-Printed form to get my car tax refund
-Made small list of things I could ebay.
    - Started my virtual money pot

Still trying to work out where other money can come from. Am not going to include my 'job'... will include homers if I'd don't need the money to eat.
Might get a few bits from helping my dad.
Have my wrecked car to sell.
Almost finished my first book... will ebook it and/or self-publish
Money earned on ebay will be used to fund my supplements business idea which I'll also run through ebay until it's big enough to warrant it's own website.

Will also be including freebies (if they are something I would otherwise have bought) and loyalty card vouchers if I save the cash they replace.

Am suspecting my main issue is not the 11k, but staying the course. But if I do this, I am debt free, and I'll own my own business and will be able to quit my job.

    Fingers crossed!
2011 <-- clear debts, start own business, publish book, quit job!
Progress: Raising money to start business
    :) £128.00/£6.50

Question for all you lovely people.

I got my first sewing machine for xmas :D It's only a small one, think mum got it from aldi for me, she refused to spend a lot of money on on till i know how to use it if that makes sense. Sooo I have decided my first project with it will be a patchwork quilt for my neice due in 8 weeks. Now I need any thing you can throw at me to give me an idea of where to start lol.

    Thanks :D

Hey Babymoo - that's strange, I also got my first sewing machine for Christmas! I have no idea what to do with it - even how to set it up. Mine's just a little one too but it looks really complicated - i took it out of the box for 5 mins and then put it straight back in again. Good luck with your quilt, sounds a lovely idea :)
    Just £10,852.28p to go...

    :D

    Trust that little voice in your head that says "Wouldn't it be interesting if...";
    And then do it.

Sewing machines must be the in thing. I got one too for christmas! I have bought quilt panels from ebay. Dead easy and quick to do. When DD1 had DGS my SIL gave her three quilts one for the cot at DD's house, one for our house and a spare - she paid £20 each for them and they are lovely - however if you search quilted panels on ebay there are some lovely ones for less than £10, wadding would cost a couple of pounds max and use a cheap single cotton sheet from tesco valuefor the backing. This sheet would so at least four quilts so you can make some lovely ones for about £13-£14 pounds. I have been doing the cushions too, have finished no2 and away to start no3. I machine round the main squares but where there is a centre panel with a motif on it I sew round the motif by hand so the quilting is more apparent, catching the wadding as I go. I havent sewn for years - probably since school so not today or yesterday, nearly 30 years - one piece of advice is to tack everything together first - I am quite impatient but definately take the time - I didnt and it cost me more in the long run - lesson learned!!!!, plus its learning to sew in straight lines again thats a bu**er!!!
I have got to say I am really impressed with my work, and hopefully will have plent of things made to do my craft fair in the spring.

Am quitting smoking- cut down begins tomorrow with nicorette gum so wish me luck!!! Am cutting from 20 to 10 a day for 2 weeks, then 5 for 2 weeks, then 0! As I smoke less and less I will put the money i'd spend on cigs onto my debts and add to my total. Also, anything left from my $50pw budget. Am meal planning and trying to eat from scratch, healthily so that'll save me money too!

Thanks Suzy :) I have been looking for lots of fabric samples. My intention is to sew lots of different patterned samples etc together then turn it into a quilt from there if that makes sense? I loved sewing in school and I should get it back in no time. I shall posts pics when I have done my first creation!

Everyone has said I should start making the gold pots and things I did for xmas all through the year and sell them. But then I'm not sure I would enjoy it so much if that makes sense?!
