Hello! Well i'm new to this challenge but i've made a start and i'm really proud of myself! I rounded up spare change around the house and listed 7 items on e-bay! And i've got a bid on one of them, yay! Also managed to write my new budget and figure out what I can afford to put away/pay off. My debts are bigger than I thought but hopefully i'll be able to pay them off sooner rather thn later by throwing everything I get from this challenge at them!
    Good luck everyone

Well i have listed 2 things today on ebay so hopefully they will sell and i will be about £600 richer:T which would be a lovely start to this challenge. I logged into quidco and have a shock waiting! I got 2 contract phones through vodaphone which had a brilliant cashback attached but they never had reception in this area so i had to cancel and send back, well they are showing as validated/tracked at £246 :rotfl:I hope they dont cancel lol - that will be a nice addition if they pay out. I also managed to buy 53 hardback crime books at the expensive cost of £5.50 so they will have to be listed on amazon at some point and any profit into my jars :) and i am half way through a monthly food budget which i think i have reduced by £200 this month.

What is the secret? I have seen it mentioned a few times

It's basically the law of attraction - see the link. It's how last year's challenge started out. Visualisation techniques and living as though you've already got the wealth. Thinking about being rich and focusing on having money rather than having debt - as the theory is that you attract what your thoughts give out. So if you think about money, you attract it. If you think about debt, you attract that. That's a rather basic description anyway.

Doesn't sound like you need it though - great totals already, well done :T
    Just £10,852.28p to go...

    :D

    Trust that little voice in your head that says "Wouldn't it be interesting if...";
    And then do it.

Thanks for the link :) I spend alot of time thinking about debts in the past and this is the first year i have decided to meet them head on and start doing something about them! I am feeling positive for the first time in a long time and really looking forward to trying to get this challenge complete and some debts cleared.

Argh, mega skint atm BUT I have taken advantage of the sales and purchased some Christmas presents for next year. Got 9 for £47.50 which works out at £5.27 a gift. Not bad. 20m of gift wrap for a £1 and loads of tags.

Im keeping a spreadsheet of gifts and hopefully will manage to save a few £££'s by being organised!!
  • I'm in!! I am currently decluttering the house much to the joy of DH, so have a great opportunity to make some money and save, save, save! We need to buy a car desperately, so maybe by doing this we will have enough money at the end of the year without needing a loan! :)

  • Hi,please count me in if its not to late!

My OH have decided to make 2011 our year after 2009/2010 were not so good! Together we want to save/make as much as possible to either get married or buy a bigger place to live in the next year. We havent got a specific target but everything helps...i even picked up 5p of the path today and stuck it in the pot! We are set to do a car boot at the weekend after DD got too many new toys and we are ebaying anything and everything!

    Good luck everyone!
    ;)
  • Oh go on then I'll have a go too. I've sold some bits and bobs on ebay over the last few days so off to a good start even though its technically not 2011. xxx

great motivation for saving change & places to look for road kill (change on the road) and methods for how to look!!! There is quite a few of them that end up with ££'s from change picked up!!!

This is the year to #getfit
  • I'm in!:D Be fun to see what tiny fraction of the target I can make.

Only going to count extra income/money made in 2011, not savings (is there another thread for that?) or anything in 2010.:p
