Can I join in too? Have seen how well some have done - especially skintbint - and seen how hard she worked to get to her total. I know it wont be an easy achievement but even getting a small amount will be something. I will count all I can save from changing tariffs etc, selling on ebay making money from various things eg craft fairs if I can scrounge help from Skintbint as to when they are happening! Have got a new diary so that will be used for keeping track. I did start this last year but the thread split and I didnt keep it up - I think at that point in the first wee while I had about £900. I did dabble a bit over the year and probably just through selling on ebay, selling knitting, quidco, tesco vouchers and various other things without much thought made about 2 grand. Will decide what I am going to count in this challenge and start on 1st January.
Suzy - us drunken scots start on the 3rd! will give you as much help as i can once i figure out what i'm doing! must get o/h a tesco card as he never remembers to take mine and also try a bit of womblingskintbint x

did a budget but there is no room for savings there, need to cover a deficit of approx £100 week so will have to lose christmas and bday savings and make them up in other ways
my income literally just covers the bills and foodSave 12k in 2015 member 187. £62.50/60000 -
I've read through all 14 pages of this thread and am ready to start!
I already have The Secret both book and DVD, so I WILL reach the £11,000 target!
I had in mind trying to save £1,000 per month to help pay off my mortgage or to be able to keep up payments on my mortgage once interest rates increase. I have a separate savings account with about £9 in that I will transfer all accumulated funds.
I'm going to have a good look at the links on the first page of this thread and am excited to find new ways of earning more money/saving more money.
I have a son going off to university in September and have already set money aside for his first year expenditure but I'm sure anything else I can manage to save will also help him along.
Here's to £11k in 2011! If you think you can, you can!!!

Ooh great!! Please can i join? I know at the beginning of the year it always seems outrageous to think i could save £11,000 by the end of the year but i figure if you aim for a big target then even if you get anywhere close to that you'll have saved alot of money
I will definitely be attempting this challenge this year.
I was keeping an eye on a similar challenge last year and the people taking part were just so inspiring, saving so much money, and alot of the time passing the target amount!Mortgage - £105,5000 -
I would like to join the challenge as well, I started this years challenge but got waylaid along the way!
I am already self employed but my earnings seem to be going down so I need to top them up to get through the year!
I am looking for a part time new for the new year and will do some ebaying and then car booting when it gets warmer!
I also have some domain names that I will set up with amazon and ebay to earn a bit extraSell £1000 in 2016 - £12.48/£1000
Earn £2016 in 2016 - £0.00/£10000 -
Please count me in too... I'll only be counting tax free "extra" income e.g. ebay, Amazon selling of personal items, quidco, nectar points etc. rather than overtime or taking on a part-time job.£2012 in 2012 Challenge £2051.06£2013 in 2013 Challenge £500
