I am still awaiting my 1st Gas bill, so far all my payments have gone on elec only, was told it should be sorted mid this month?

I was told it was due to a problem with the system for people who were in mid-switch over xmas and the new year?

I was in the same position, set up on the Standard tariff, no direct debits taken for my gas account although this had been set up on my bank account. I am now having great trouble getting them to give me the correct discount for paying by direct debit.

    Also the latest email says:

Thank you for your recent e-mail dated 15th April 2011.

We are currently installing a new computer system so at present nobody can login or register online. Please keep trying as this system will be updated soon.

    Thanks Kathie,

There was always going to be a roll out of the online system with it effectively moving up the country. August/september was the date I was given as well.

Without online access, they will estimate your first gas bill. You could always phone in a reading if you want greater accuracy. My estimated gas bill was pretty accurate.

Well done getting that high up the company.:T I thought I had done well but you have trumped me.:)

Only reason I am in touch with this lady is that last week I got so fed up of being fobbed off and not getting responses to emails that I sent a letter directly to the chief exec. I will give them their due - they did contact me the day that they probably received the letter, and have had a follow up call as well - problems still not sorted but at least they are keeping me informed, which is better than I have been getting from them for the last 5 months!

I will leave it to you whether you are satisfied with the response.I am glad they have apologised for the DP faux pas.It does look like someone has got a grip of your complaint and on the face of it, have provided a substantive response.

No doubt other members will update us on whether their bills are now coming through correctly.

Yes i feel reasonably satisfied with the outcome and that they have moved position. If others still have probems at least this info is on record.

Hi, just looking for some advice, switched to EDF at the beginning of January, only got my first bill today. Think I've been charged on the standard tariff but wasn't quite sure how I would know. Also, my bill has two parts, a higher charge from the 2nd of March and then on the right hand side it says that's because the price went up on the 2nd of March which they sent me a letter about. Abit annoyed because when I got the letter about the price rising I rang EDF and asked if my price was going up and they said no it wasn't, they had just sent a letter to all EDF customers but I wasn't affected as I was on online saver 7. Also funny that they have estimated the amount of energy I used after 2nd of March and it's quite alot compared to January and Februrary. How can they charge me a higher price for energy after the 2nd of March when they have no clue when I used the blummin energy!?
Anyway, I'm guessing I've been billed completely on standard tariff, can anyone tell me how I can check? And the best way to get in contact with them?

    Hi,
On my bill, it said quite clearly "Dual Fuel Gas Tariff Direct Debit" for the standard tariff, and "Online S@aver 7 Dual Fuel DD" for the Online saver 7... Also, Standard tariff on my bill did not have a Standing charge, while Onlive saver 7 does.

Thanks for that info, on my bill it says ' duel fuel gas tariff direct debit', but I've also been charged for a standing charge post the 2nd of March which is acually pretty expensive, 19.72 pence a day!

Don't know where that leave me then....
  • I transferred to online saver v7 dual on 18th Jan. They still have not agreed opening meter reading with my previous supplier. Even though I told them meter reading myself. Set gas dd at a ridiculous £16 month didnt change it until 2nd time of asking. So far not had £100 bonus not impressed!

Bigwigg, it leaves you needing to call them tomorrow to ask them to recalculate your bill on the correct tariff. If you read here you will find that this is a common problem with this tariff and lots of people have had to call them to get them to correct.

In my opinion EDF aren't any worse than any other supplier.. they are all useless!

I know my comments will not help anyone but I changed in Jan 2011 to the online s@ver 7 and the bill was correct in that the tariff online s@ver 7was used from day one at the correct rate . They did reduce my dd as I was overpaid but asked them to leave it the same and that was done almost immediately.
I just wonder why they are able to get some customers change over so wrong but like in my case they can do it with no problems !

Partly I think it's to do with their new computer system. I got in on the old system back in November and it seems to have fallen apart. Anyone who changed to them a bit later and got on to the new system has been okay. Or so it seems.
