The OS7 tariff did *not* increase in March. EDF have agreed that everyone should be put on the OS7 tariff from their start date and not some time later so you can certainly get them to correct that.

I don't know the complaints address but it will be on the website.

    Spy ,I fully sympathise.

You have sufferred all the same things as many of us but with added Customer Service incompetence.

I am going to drop EDF a line in the hope that they contact you regarding your situation. Can't promise anything. :)

I've only just seen this thread but I have been having problems with edf ever since signing up for onlinesaver7 in November and would welcome any advice.

I applied for online7 on 17 November 2010 (through quidco and the £100 welcome bonus offer). I received the contract on 19 November and everything seemed fine.

Spy, that could have been written word for word by me. It is exactly the same problems I had, including the sign up and switch dates! Thankfully this week I have started to see the light at the end of the tunnel (although my electric is still waiting to be switched) but I have been assured that it will be within the next 4-8 weeks.

I have been in touch with a lovely lady in the chief exec's office who has finally found out what has been preventing my electricity from switching (at the bottom of a big blag hole, which nobody was able to retrieve, as she put it!) I also had the letter that said they were going to cancel my duel fuel discount, I was also on the standard tariff. This has now been corrected.

I got nowhere complaining using their online complaints system. As soon as I wrote a letter to the chief exec I had a response within days, and the lady that has been dealing with me has been really fantastic. I would suggest you try doing that.

i switched over to online saver 7 in dec/jan for gas electricity. got the £100 credit applied on the first bill and £80 cashback quidco. great. but then 2nd bill arrived today which contained £36 goodwill credit, oi phoned upto ask what this was for and they said it wass because i was put on the standrad tariff due to system issues there side, and its a credit relating to overpayments. this has now been corrected 3 months later and they have credited £20.. back to my gas bill too.

i will be doing my own calculations to make sure its spot on and if not i will be speaking to the, writing to them depending how much it is as im not wasting too much time chasing them as they are not the quickest to pick up the phone.
some of the questions i as asking the customer services person they couldnt answer and she said im doing that training in a few weeks so will know then which i thought come across poo. still no access to the online billing, and once again been told await the email.

i signed up for online papaerliss billing etc. there not very good, but seem to be sorting it out. i only joined to get the £180 cashback.
i am confused though i thought prices were going up even on onkline saver 7 and i had the letters to say they would be, although now im being told that this tariff is unaffected by increases, is this true?

i was with british gas prior to this with no issues, and think i will be looking at going back to these jan 11, although i will compare the whole market first.

Well my new bills came for gas and electricity, for some reason they'd done me an estimated bill for 4 days and then it just had a load of credits on the bill so goodness knows if it correct or not. I just give up with it all to be honest. But for the 4 days of estimated bill I had been charged on the standard tariff again:mad:
Rang them up very frustrated, spoke to a man who said he will now send out a new bill with the difference credited again - I tried to explain calmly that I just want a bill that shows I am on the correct tariff. If the next one comes and I'm still on standard tariff - well lets just say I won't be a very happy bunny!
  • I've read all the above comments with great interest. I tried to switch in December when I moved into a new property (oh how I wished I stayed with British Gas - at least they answered the phone).
I have been waiting since December 2010 for my gas bill to be set up. I am told it is 'going live' on 25th May which in my eyes is a complete joke. There have been numerous other problems - delay setting up electricity account, not setting up direct debit, not being able to submit meter readings online etc etc.....followed by endless time spent trying to speak to someone to rectify the problems!
The reason for my post is this and apologies if someone has already stated this. I have just emailed Ofgem the energy regulator to see if they can register my complaint. If EDF hasn't resolved your problem within 8 weeks you can complain to them and I would encourage anyone who feels strongly enough to do so.

Having spoken to them again tonight I am hopeful that some of my problems will now get sorted - however, it sounds like they'll probably bill me incorrectly anyway, if any of the posts are anything to go by.

    Good luck everyone!

What exactly do you mean by waiting for your gas bill to be set up? Do you mean the online account or the actual gas supply?

If you mean the online account, I've been with them since December too and still don't have access.
