I still favour knuckle-draggers to describe PPC ticketers (generically, of course...).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Personally I prefer "fast one" (neutral enough) or "begging letters".
The main thing though to note is that the PPCs are running scared about forums such as this. It is hitting their business. As witness the daily growing infiltration of PPC operatives and trolls. If it did not matter financially these money grabbing cowboys would not bother.
The minutes of the BPA AOS meeting on 22 October (which someone helpfully posted online) confirm the view that PPCs are rattled by online fora:
"GR asked whether there was any viral activity – there is a need for a concerted campaign to answer the various blogs.
MF stated that viral works best from a ‘zero position’ and that the industry is about ‘-50’ – there has been some success in dealing with the money-saving websites but there is still much more to be done.
MG asked how we can make landowners ‘frightened’ of this ban.
MF responded by saying that PR Office are working with the trade press and representative associations – suggested that operators talk earnestly with their clients and spread the message. MF stated that the PR Office and BPA would seek to do this also – but stressed that the help of the operators was needed."
MF is Mark Frazer of the BPA PR office.
"Some success in dealing with the money saving websites". Ha, ha, whoever could he mean? Of course it could mean the growing number of ilfiltrators and trolls but success, I don't think so.
Keep up the good work folks. They may censor certain words, which by the way I think are entirely appropriate and reasonable, but they cannot kill the message. In the space of a few years the whole country will be merrily ignoring these muttonheads.0 -
I think $cam or $ cam might well be close enough to get the message across that PPC invoices (begging letters, spam, chain letters, or whatever else we call them) are not enforcible and are best ignored.
Keep up the good work of informing the uninformed about these "companies"and their :spam: and how to deal with the joke tickets and empty threats they make.Ignore PPC Tickets, they are just begging letters0 -

Can you avert your eyes from this thread. It's about you and I wouldn't want to see you upset.
It's one of those down to earth threads for the victims and you are much too high brow to offer anything useful.

And you can see that the BPA is all about making money for their members. This is why the BPA is calling for the re-introduction of paid parking in Welsh and Scottish hospitals, so they can get their snouts in the trough. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
And also why they want councils to put up their fines as it makes there penalties seem less horrendous.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

"success in dealing with the money-saving websites"
They better hope their not too successful, they will need this site to save themselves a few bob once everyone learns to ignore them!0 -
Does anyone remember when a representative from the BPA came on to this forum to put their case? They soon disappeared when they realised that they we weren't buying their propaganda, and when some home truths and points of law were pointed out to them. I don't think that could be counted as a "success" by them on this forumWhat part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

The message is getting through. The PPCs are running scared hence the increase in troll activity and the recent posting by a PPC. Follow up any story in local papers about PPC 'fines' and if there is a facility to add comments, many comments relate to the unenforceability of these charges. We just need a little more push to upset the PPC apple-cart. I will be writing a few letters to local papers next year in the hope of influencing a few other who in turn will tell family and friends. The PPC 'industry' mushroomed in recent years, I suspect an equally swift demise.Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!0
