I'm not quite sure what the mods are asking us to do, so can someone - anyone - help me?
what derogatory terms am I banned from using?
if perky has had his snout in this could he produce a list of acceptable terms to use when I come to describe a business model (and its users) as unethical, intimidatory, morally-bankrupt,etc.?0 -
Okay, so it seems to me that we might need to avoid the sc*m word - which is what they do on pepipoo and CAG forums anyway - but apparently we can still use 'cowboys' as long as not about a particular company:

Hi Coupon-mad,
When the term cowboy is used in the places you've mentioned it is about the industry or group as a whole, rather than one company in particular.
I hope that clears it up a bit, any questions let me know.
Kind regards,
MSE xxxx

Okay then, everyone clear we can still use cowboys in a generic way like Martin does. Clowns is also a good one I reckon, toothless jokers, that sort of thing! Wonder if knuckle-draggers is still OK if not directed at one company?
I like knuckle-draggers, it suits their ilk - don't you think Messrs Arthur and Terry? Are you still in Sharm?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Great guidance Coupon. :T
As usual, attempts at censorship backfire with a vengeance. Now we can nicely avoid one word and have found a whole array of amusing alternatives.
We had that lawyer bloke Murdo saying shut up about Lucy BC and that went on for ages.In the end you couldn't shut him up :rotfl:
Then we've got Pinky, who loves it here as business is slow. He's even so keen, he keeps finding new sockpuppets to infiltrate. You've got to admire the latest choice of Minder though.....inspired.
So someone tried to put the frighteners on MSE.
My guess is a knuckle draggin', ethically challenged, gaucho who has integrity deprivation. Howdy.:wave:0 -

In the traditional western film, the good cowboys wore white hats, and the baddies wore black.
Come to think of it, some PPC attendants wear black hats so refering to them as black hats would be factually correct.0 -

Can I still use low life pond dwelling parasites? Generically of course?0 -
Seeing defamation would be based on an untruth I think the term would be acceptable.;)Sir_Roger_deLodger wrote: »Can I still use low life pond dwelling parasites? Generically of course?0 -

the British word for a cowboy is a drover. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

I think in the context of the thread the cowboy tag is more to do with the actions of the cowboys versus the skinners in the mid 18th century. The "cowboy" word is probably English origin.A stitch in time means you can't afford a new one.0
