Apparently using the words 'scam' and 'cowboys' [and presumably 'scum, crooks, liars, thieves and vermin' also] when talking about these 100% legal, honest, hard-working and perfectly acceptable legitimate companies is a no, no....as far as MSE is concerned.

The problem is they are however as much we hate them legitimate. Calling them anything what can not be verified could cause the site problems. We all know what they are, so if we are careful we can still advise people how to deal with them without resorting to calling them whatever.
If an action was taken remember the site would suffer and maybe all we have posted about the PPC,s could disappear! Other sites have been doing the same. Some setting the filter so you cant use the word scam.
Better we take care and be able to advise, then for the forum to be taken down due to some action.0 -

this should be seen as a ringing endorsement of the posters on here....
Of course the good thing is that it should be seen as a success that they've had to take action...it means the site is a threat to them [why would anyone bother chasing a site that was of no import to them??]Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Yet Ken Livingstone has no problem with calling people crooks on Have I Got News For You on national television?0

I define the word scam as meaning "to obtain money by deception".
Whilst the initial invoice/ticket that is issued doesn't immediately attempt to obtain money by deception as it is open to debate over the contract etc, most of the follow up letters would come under that category.
The letters that try to get the registered keeper to pay or say they have to divulge driver details can only be described as an attempt to obtain money deception. Likewise letters than frighten people into paying with threats about baliffs calling round are also doing this.0 -
Perhaps we can call them organizations that suffer from integrity deprivation.Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!0
