...chips Good option, but I've only got fiddly little spuds & I can't be a**ed peeling a mountain of them! How lazy? Could do wedges with the skin still on...
and mushroom pie A particular favourite of mine, but not got any mushrooms & the pastry's in the freezer. One for next week though.
wrapped in bacon with a cheese sauce. Mmmm, yes. There's some parma ham that needs using.....
with a spicy tomato sauce. We had this on Tuesday!
fajitas We'd have fajitas every night if it was up to me, but DH is not a huge mexican fan. I can get away with giving him it about once a month. Weird man

(Can you tell I ought to be working, LOL)

Thank you for your kind suggestions, it's always interesting to hear what others would make. You have at least inspired me to go have a proper look in the fridge now.

The lack of inspiration is mostly down to the fact that I'm trying to run down the store cupboard / freezer before we go away, and am loath to buy anything else. Next week is going to be even more interesting :D

Welcome back Michelle and little Charlie!!!

Hugs to Tinkerbell. I still miss my granny, the thing that makes me saddest is she never saw our kids and would have loved being a great Granny!!! :D

The day started slow, DH made it until about midday and is now down playing noisy horrid games on XBox which I am very unhappy about. Times like this open plan living is a definite problem.

Popped to Asda's and got ,loads of fish (cod, smoked cod and prawns) for less that £3!!! Was all on yellow label, so will do fish pie tommorrow. Was very good and then saw pumpkins at the checkout, bought 5 and they are now sitting on the doorstep and windowsills in the front garden glowing beautifully. I love doing pumpkins. The kids did a little one each.

Also bought DD some beautiful boots and the kids winter coats were delivered from La Redoute (had had a £10 discount voucher so there coats were less than a tenner each) so they have been very well dressed today although DS still needs some boots but was such a misery I gave up.

Kids dinner is on and will start DD's witch's costume tonight and DS's ghost costume. They are at a party at the local paint your own pottery place which should be fun.

Not sure if DH will be at work tomorrow probably not. He was complaining as I'm being a bit short with him. I can't get much done with him around, was it Moggins whose sig said cleaning with kids around is like shovelling snow...can't remember the rest. Think that should be changed to cleaning with husbands around is like ...whatever it is.

Right I'm waffling now and haven't even had a glass of vino yet. Incidentally didn't touch the kids [STRIKE]pigsty[/STRIKE] room got distracted by pumpkins, will try again tomorrow.

    Have a lovely evening all.

    :j Yay! :j He's awarded today's "Official Teen Pat On The Back Award!" :T :T :T :T

Michelle ((hugs)) Great to see you! Been thinking about you :D Your dh sounds like a real star! Big up to him!! :T :T Aww, poor Charlie and poor you! My youngest had a bilirubin issue when he was born and we did the bungee-cord-to-home thing (no sooner let us home then the next day a call to readmit him). Felt like he wasn't truly ours until we'd had the final discharge. Hoping all goes well tomorrow, for all your sakes.

Donna - how lovely that your son's friend was a good guest :) He'll no doubt be delighted when he gets a return invite :D

Well, we all put our backs into the room after lunch and now I have two very happy chappies, each with their own 'personal space'. You would think I'd given d12yo his own house the way he's reacted  Mind you, it looks so lovely that ... ... well I wouldn't say no to moving in there myself!! :D Over the weekend, we'll get stuck into d11yo's room between footie practice and matches. They're going to draw up a wish list of needs/wants and then we can prioritise in time for the January sales ;)

I had thought we'd be watching a film this evening, but ... they've disappeared off to their rooms to do  ... so it's me, myself, I at the moment :rotfl:

I could get used to this ;)

DH fashioned a pizza for our lad out of a tortilla wrap, some passata, veg and a sprinkling of grated cheese, bunged in a large frying pan. It was a massive hit so our storecupboard challenge is working! I might take to my bed more often.

I am feeling much better and should be raring to go again tomorrow. Thanks so much for the support everyone. (And the laughs about my bum/balance problem! x

Doddsy - hope it went ok with your boss!

Edited to say Hi to Michelle and Charlie!

To everyone else I hope you've had a good day;)

Nice evening with just me and DH, DS2 is at the Safari Park for the glow in the dark night and DS1 is at his girlfriends for the next 3 nights:D so it'll be quiet and tidy here!;)

DH had an interview tonight and it sounds promising, its a lot nearer to home, only 15 min drive instead of 45.

Have a good evening all, maybe back later!

    Take care xx

Fingers X'd and posi vibes being sent!

kyle - I remember the howling of the wind the night of the 'Great Storm' and trying to placate 3 terrified littlies. Ended up making a game out of it by trying to make out any words 'hidden' on the wind - we had a right hoot over some of their suggestions :)
If the power goes off half way through cooking your pasta, the pasta will continue to cook if it is still in hot water. If your sauce/topping isn't cooked, then resort to sprinkling grated cheese over the pasta and calling it "special" ;)

GR - Tortilla pizza's are soooo scrummy! Have you tried cheese and onion couscous pie? Now *that* is lovely, belly hugging, vegetarian and [STRIKE]takes little time to sling together[/STRIKE] well worth the effort ;)

All things that I am able to eat at the moment so a pointer towards a recipe would be gratefully received! :j
