Morning All
Hugs to everybody especially Tinkerbell, I so sorry for your loss and that your family arent pulling togerther.
DH is off work today as the car needs to go to Liverpool to have something fixed on it under the warrenty. I was going to get him to drop me in Ormskirk on the way passed but its peeing it down and I dont think the market will be up to much today. I'd stay at home if I were you Bertie.
Got loads to do at home anyway, my SIL has lent me here ironingpress to try out so I should get that done and also try to give our room a good tidy. Also want DH to start to tackle to the garage its a right blooming mess and the xmas decorations are under the mess somewhere. Best to be prepared for December.
Have a good day everyoneSorting my life out one day at a time0 -
Morning All,
Off today, DH is still in bed he's decided to stay home today but I think I may have a battle getting him to stay in bed. Not a good night, DH was very restless so I think I was too.
Very mild here today. Need to wash the dining chair covers and sweep the floors, have a couple of small loads to do as well.
Big challenge today is kids room, their toy cupboard needs completely re-organising and there are some dreadful marks on the carpet which I'm going to attack too. Will also wipe down skirtings etc in there and give it a good deep clean.
Dinner tonight is spanish omelette, didn't have it last night. Am also planning not to drive anywhere for the next three days as if I do so will have saved a weeks petrol!!
Have a lovely day all, hugs to those miserable at work, have been there and it is truly horrid. Shez, have a brilliant time in Dubai!!!
Take care and have a lovely day.

Tinkerbell - Have a hug - So sorry to hear your news.
GR - That happened to me quite a bit during pregnancy, especially at work, but as I worked in the bedding department of a well known large department store there was always somewhere soft to land.....mind you - did get some silly looks when you came to and had customers peering at you.
Hug and hellos to all the rest of you,
It's damp here again this morning but I don't feel quite so chilly. DH has just left to work his merry way around the M25, he'll be back tomorrow night tho so not much chance to miss him. DD's and I are off to a halloween disco this evening which should be a laugh.
My eldest cat came in with a hugly swollen face on one side last night, can see puncture wounds on the top and bottom of the swelling, it's torn his mouth slightly too (I assume it was the big black cat from over the back) But he's purring away and eating well, bathed it in some salty warm water and he's happily come back in and requested more food....will keep an eye on it today, will get him to the vet if I think it's causing him a problem.
Todays OS projects are, making some rolls for lunch (HM burgers and HM chunky chips), sorting out some fabric to make a couple of wheat bags for christmas pressies and having a good mooch through freecycle to see if there's anything I need or anything I can get rid of. Might even get inspired enough to iron all the clothes I want to put on Ebay and take some photos, I find that such a thankless task.
Anyway - hope you all have a great day what ever you get up to."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Morning everyone
GR - take heed of the doctor and keep your feet up today!!
Tinkerbell - sending you a :grouphug:
Still off work, sore throat has gone but still have the annoying 'spaced out', feeling with hot flushes and dizzy spells thrown in so am not overdoing it. I'm aiming to get some ironing done today and cook something simple for dinner, as poor OH has been eating ready meals out of the freezer for the last 2 evenings
The kitchen floor could really do with doing so I might attempt this later or enlist OH when he gets home.

Morning all :hello: Big hugs to Tinkerbell, I hope the problems resolve themselves, now is not the time for conflict. Hugs too to Gingham Ribbon, try and keep your feet up if possible today, you obviously need the rest. Hugs to anyone else in need too.
Haven't been able to post all week, been very busy going out and about. The central heating which had only been on since last Friday gave up the ghost on Monday so I've been buzzing about trying to keep warm, although to be honest it's still not that cold here so it's only in the evening that we feel the chill. Being without hot water is more of a problem, although I did raise an unkind smile this morning when OH, who had argued with me that our shower was the sort that heated the water as it was used, leapt into the cubicle and found out the hard way that it wasn't. :rotfl:
Mum gave me a bag of cooking apples on Tuesday so I'm going to cook some of them down today to freeze. Have put some meatballs in curry sauce into the slow cooker to warm us up tonight and must put a loaf into the BM in a moment. Am going to finish off some Christmas presents today so I can cross them off my list.
Breakfast: crumpets
Lunch: sandwich
Dinner: meatballs, rice, and a spinach dish
Take care,

Morning all,
Hugs to Tinkerbell and anyone else who needs them. I know its no consolation but it happened to me two years ago, when my Dad died suddenly and six weeks later his mum, my nan, died too. Dad's sister was estranged from the family, by her own choice and it made for not a very nice time at all. I do hope it all gets better for you.
rchddap1- make the most of your maternity leave, enjoy resting - I know its hard, but you'll be glad you did soon. Gingham Ribbon - hope the fainting stops, my mum was like that when she was having my sister - it's quite scary!
Snowy - and anyone else thinking of it - you're so brave! I found the only way to leave jobs I didn't like, was to have babies!! I'm not doing that again!! Hope electric gets sorted.
Penelope P - enjoy your meal and Bertie - have a lovely time with the children.
Queenie - don't let the weetabix cake disaster occur again!!(just ask taplady if you don't know what I mean!)
LMLOD - Get better soon and Jackie O - hope toe gets sorted.
Well my plumber is back today, 3rd day!, I have a toilet (albeit a bit of a leaky one!) but my heating/hotwater is in a bit of a mess. Hope he can sort it today . Kids are less than impressed about not going out - can't be helped though can it? Their cousins are coming today so they are happy now.
I must get on, wm and dw on and we're having baths to use up any hot water left before the system is drained! Can't bear to waste it!
Have a good day all xxxx
Frugalfairy hope yours gets sorted too.If you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.0 -
Tinkerbell - hugs and sympathy to you.
I should be doing the ironing this morning but am on tenterhooks, waiting to 'make the call' to tell the bosses what they can do with their job, about 11.30 I think. Thanks for your good wishes! I am scared about the money situation but am already looking for something.
After ironing I will get some baking done and then relax with cross stitch.
breakfast - nothing - too sicky feeling
lunch - carrot and coriander soup
tea - pork chops, the last from our pig.
Take care all
doddsyWe must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.

Morning everyone!
((((Tinkerbell)))) My gran died in 1980 and I still think of her every day and miss her loads. You know that thing where if you find a white feather in an unexpected place that they say an angel has visited you, well, whenever I find one, I know it's from my gran.
Absolutely gorgeous day here - perfect Autumn day. Have taken all the sheets off the bed and washed them and they are happily drying on the line outside. Beds are having an airing before I put clean sheets on later.
Have walked to Sainsburys and got a few necessities - and treated the kids to a gingerbread man each.
Lunch is going to be homemade lentil and tomato soup ( a recipe from someone on here) and crusty bread.
Dinner will be sundried tomato risotto, salad and garlic bread.
After lunch we are off swimming and then when we get home we will be having a good sort out of books as DD has now heard all the ones in her bedroom so I need to sort out all the ones we have in the playroom and move books around.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Huge hugs to tinkerbelluk. If someone has been there all your life, it is so hard to loose them.
My granny is 96, so i know she won't be around much more, but i can't bear the the idea of her not being here.
Hugs to everyone with aches and pains, physical or emotional. And for those with jobs they hate. I feel so lucky i love my job. have just got more funding for our project, so job is secure for another year and a half (the curse of short term contracts)
i shall be following Little_miss_neat's example and having sundried tomato risotto for tea.0
