sorry to have not posted for a couple of days. Just trying to not spend my entire evening on the computer so i can spend time with Mr LT.

I've evidently had some things running around my head recently because i had a bizarre dream last night. Seems funny now but i'd turned up to a building where i regularly have to go for meetings (in RL) and you couldn't get in unless they weighed you and filled out a questionaire. Well i was happy to do the questionaire but flatly refused to get on the scales. For some reason the person taking the details was an old school friend. In the end i was laid on the floor and they tried to get lots of people to move me and couldn't. I would guess that my weight is really playing on my mind at the moment and that it's time to do something rather than keep saying i'm going to try to do something and then hit the chocolate.
Going to do some investigating to figure out how to attack the underlying cause whilst starting to eat more healthily and do a bit more exercise.

seems that today is a day to start making changes.

Went to Focus on the way home from work and got flooring for the living room, paid £236, it was 50% off then 40% off again. I bought all there was 17 boxes, which will be a bit tight but if we need more then we can get some from Homebase. But at their prices what i bought today would cost £600!!!!!!!! Think i'll pop back to that one tomorrow to see if they have underlay left, if not then will ring another shop and check out if they have either the packs or underlay and go saturday morning. Not only will our new floor look beautiful but it's made from solid bamboo which is apparently very environmentally friendly. I can't believe we've got such a good bargain.

I've also sat down and made a list of the reasons why i want and need to lose weight, it's a long list. I've also made a list of all the benefits i can see when i've lost it. I've also made myself a chart of squares of targets/ challenges/ milestones. Mostly lots of 7lb loses, walking or cycling x distance. But there are other ones which are more fun like dancing lessons, clothes etc No trapese lessons like Cheery though.
I've figured that if i write an honest list of the effects my weight is having on me i can keep referring to it and it will help motivate me to get started and keep going onwards.

oh and we handed back the key to the lottie today, got a really snotty letter from them and i'm tired of feeling that i'm not good enough and feeling guilty that i obviously can't do enough work there to keep them happy, specially with the long hours at work and with helping out my parents over the last month or so. doesn't mean we won't try again when the time is right for us and our lives. We can still grow things in our garden which we've been doing for a long time now. I do feel that i've failed somewhat but i think the relief that i don't need to feel guilty all the time is overriding that feeling at the moment, plus i have to admit there's a bit of anger at the tone and contents of their letter.

    Hi Lemontree,

It does sound like it's been a day for change for you today! Well done on the flooring, it sounds amazing and I bet it will look lovely when it's laid.

As for the losing weight, the list and the chart sound like a really good approach. I really should do something about my weight too, but I know it's the wrong time for me now what with just having packed in the fags I don't want too much pressure. Good luck with it though!

I really want to go and ask my doctor whether he can refer me for discounted gym membership or swimming. I have heard this is available in loads of areas but because I am only a stone or so overweight and not causing any health problems I suspect they will say no and I will feel silly and like a tightwad (which I am!)

Anyway hope your enjoying a bit of a sit down and a relax after all that organising and planning!

my doctors don't do the gym referal, and in fact i'm sure the gym said last year that they'd stopped accepting them as loads of people were being given them from other surgeries that shouldn't have.

i have to admit i'm sat eating a couple of cheddar biscuits, which sums up why i'm so overweight.

Well I just had strawberries with cream (and sugar!) but it's that time of the month where I just eat and eat and eat so I am letting myself off!
