hi EQ, yes when i can pay off Mavis i will be debt free, ready to tackle the mortgages. I've already got a plan in place to start overpaying from next April when the first one comes out of it's fix but i'm going to try and start paying little bits off before then.
I am going to prioritise my 8% savings account though as that's likely to save me more money.

seems bizarre to be thinking this way, i never thought i'd ever make it to debt freedom (which i haven't done yet and i don't want to be counting my chickens too soon).

had a 'lovely' trip to Luton today, i have a feeling that getting around it is going to involve a different route each time as i just always seem to get lost. grrr

we have two mortgages now Taxi
first is 5.63% fixed for another year, then down to 2.5%
second is 5.69% for 3 years then down to 3.99%
savings are 8%, no brainer really,
but we can 'only' put 300 pm into the saver so if we have any extra then it will go to the second mortgage which i've calculated will save us the most money. we're a bit obsessive aren't we us MSE'rs lol.

bought myself a new lappy today, mine has been shutting down, not starting for a couple of weeks so i've basically got a new one to transfer the stuff around before the other karks it.

2 mortgages? On the same house? Doesn't that get confusing?

its just started to be honest Starnac, we had to port one accross from the old place so we didn't get the huge exit fee charged. when the second fix is up we're going to try and get them timed so we can switch them both to the same one.

hi all, hope everyone is ok.

Starnac thank you so much for my lovely card, it's fab! did you make it yourself?

I've been having fun with my new computer, on the old one i have a programme called Quicken which i use to run all my bank accounts from and i can't get it to work on the new machine :( i can't find anything that will be suitable as a replacement as i only want it to run accounts with i don't run a small business. I know i could use excel, i live and die by excel at work, but there's just so many accounts with so much transfering between each that it's going to get really tedious. argh! i should just stop being so stupid.

can't believe it's almost the weekend, it feels like it's been a really short week but that's probably because i was off on monday. haven't got a full week at work for well over a month now, which is great but by the same token is very scary as there's just so much to do.
