LT you'll be fine with the move, us MSE'rs are very organised people :D.

As for the bathroom, does it need to cost a lot? My friend has just got a new flat and did up her bathroom for £350.

£199 for bathroom suite (plain white)
£1 paint brushes (good old poundland)
    £15 for paint
    £100 for tiles and adhesive
£0 for the light fitting (freecycle)
    £5 mirror (charity shop)
    £10 for towels (Home bargains)
£10 for toothbrush holder, toilet roll holder, towel rail and toilet brush etc (Wilkinsons)
£10 for everything else (sample pots of paint to stencil, she made her own stencils. A coloured glass bottles to decorate, but she fills these with bubble bath, shampoo etc)
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J

well busy day today things achieved:
    mortgage sorted
    insurances sorted
paperwork recieved from solicitor - completed ready to return
visited new house - saw vendors and had a good chat about what's being left etc my parents came as well and think that we're getting a good solid house for a fair price phew (well that's what they're saying anyway)

    lesson learnt for the day:
do NOT turn off paper bank statements, most of all stop Mr LT turning them off... do you know how hard it is to find suitable proof of address when utilities are either online statements (not acceptable), turn up twice a year/once a year (have to be within the last 3 months) or bank statements - original NOT online print outs grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!

uni good idea about the bathroom only in the new place we need to change the tub for a shower so that we can fit a toilet into the room. It's not the largest room in the world but it's possible.

    thanks all,
taxi it seems like we've still a huge uphill road to climb.
    today's achievements:
for sale board now says sold STC
received paperwork to sign for the valuer to go round to new place.
  • Yay to boards up and things being signed!

At my womble place we often get brand new sinks (normal bathroom, small handbasins and kitchen sinks) and loos and things - we sell them at £5 each - if you have a reclaimation yard near your new place or a second hand place which also does household (depending on what you want) you might get things quite nice.

I know we've defiintely new small basins etc - if you did want anything I'd organise you a 'pressie' and get it shipped.

Oh dear read agian - you only need a shower - doh - we get them too but not that often but you might doon there.

    How exciting

    And excuse the waffle.

    :)
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
    minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
    :money:Sleeves up folks.:money:

hope everyone's had a good sunday.
i unexpectedly had my neices over to visit as my sister and her hubby went chrissy shopping, thankfully they were quiet and well behaved as i could very easily have sad and dozed all day.
have discovered that Mr LT has futher training to undertake, he was only going to chuck out a carton of custard which said BBF nov 11, i mean it was 4 days over, 4 months wouldn't stop me i have to admit, especially as it's UHT stuff. Initially i thought he was mentioning it because it was Nov 10 but it appears not. I can beleive that i actually said to him that the custard didn't know it was supposed to be UU by 4 days ago so i'm sure it's still fine.

thanks Pippi, we actually need the entire bathroom suit so i will take your advice about the sinks/toilets and have a scout round for a reclamation place which has some.
