mioliere - hugs for you and your sis and of course for your BIL. I hope it is benign and that he can build himself up xxx

Changed beds, remade them, put vac round and had a quick tidy round. Need to get some stuff printed off the 'puter and then get cracking again after lunch.

  • Good morning all,

Icy underfoot here but not freezing cold :j
DD not at school today, she has a very chesty cough and hardly slept last night,i could've sent her but shes been sleeping all morning on the sofa and is quite miserable so no doubt they would of sent her home again!

Had a horrible morning, got an email saying i've been turned down for another job :(:( its really starting to get to me now.I had a little cry, feel like such a failure, feel like im letting myself,DD and parents down!! Im not one of these mothers who wants to live off benefits (i do understand that in some cases it cant be helped,im not here to judge!) i want to work, plus my daughter is now at school so i cant 'get away' with in much longer.I hate the fact that i was made redundant!
    Sorry,little rant there,over now,sorry.
Anyway, just done another job search and decided to apply for jobs on the next level, nothing i cant do and my past experience proves that so im just gonna cross my fingers and go for it! Nothing to loose!

DD being off ill has really thrown me OS wise...not even sure what i'll be doing for meals eeekkkk, better get that sorted if nothing else.

Hope you have a warm, safe and happy day x

    Morning all!

Just up, need to sort the kitchen out and walk the dog today. Can't decide what to do for my main meal of the day. I think soup and toast might be in order.

I'm feeling really tired today, could do with another hours sleep really! But have work later, going to try and get in early as could really do with the extra money.

    have a lovely day all

    Hi everyone,

Mioliere, I'm so sorry your sister and Bil are going through this - it seems worse at Christmas time somehow. I hope the problem proves to be less serious than it appears.

Re; men not clearing up my DH leaves every tool he uses just where he has used it. I had a rant at him yesterday because he vacuumed after putting up the tree but then left the dyson plugged in and sitting in the middle of the room, where I fell over it. It's becoming a real issue because we spend so much time looking for things that he's just left anywhere and it's driving me mad.

On a happier note I am absurdly happy because i bought myself a Cath Kidston shopping trolley yesterday. I find carrying heavy things difficult but when I've mentioned getting a trolley DH has objected strongly. Anyway, in Milton Keynes yesterday I was so laden and at the furthest point from the car that I succumbed. It's not the most practical of trollies but I'm happy with the way it looks and thought DH might not find it as offensive as an "old lady trolley" but his reaction was to threaten divorce.

Os wise i have been through a lot of recipes and made a list of things i want to bake or cook for Christmas, I want to be more adventurous this year. We will be going to Sis in laws as usual but we take a lot of food. I also bought a turkey crown for the freezer just in case we can't get up there this year.

Tree is nearly up and DD is back from India today so I am feeling very happy. She starts her new job on Wednesday and moves into her flat this week so i will miss her (even though she has hardly been home for the last six months).

Hope you all have a lovely day.

  • morning everyone,
ordered myself some yaktrax this morning as I have nearly lost my footing & dignity in the ice and snow over the last few days trying to deliver customers cakes ! can't hoover my house (which is driving me mad) because the cat is terrified of the hoover and gets up on the wardrobe when i switch it on , and as she had an op at the vets on friday I dont want her doing herself and injury , so we shall have to suffer the mess for a few more days yet :o.snow has all but gone on the roads but still white fields and very slippery icy pavements.
Only 4 more cakes to make - so better go and get on with it !
be careful and stay safe everyone

Honeybee - Sorry you didn't get the job but you're not letting anyone down. You are looking and doing your best and that's a darn sight more than some. There is lots of competition out there so please don't get despondent, times like this I'd try to think that perhaps that job wasn't for me after all and something better is round the corner. have a hug xx

  • Thank you Bitsy Beans,

I have been letting it get to me lately mainly because people keep asking 'Where are you working?' 'Havent you found anything yet? its been a year' Some still dont realise how bad it is these days.
I'm going to hold my head up and keep trying,it'll happen!!

The blizzard continues here, street blocked at the moment with cars stuck in snow, OH stuck at opposite side of city in his white van, and MIL is stuck in the nursing home car park after visiting FIL....what next??? DS at school sitting his prelims, but I wonder if school will stay open ar the roads are worse than last week and no sign of snow stopping anytime soon!
