I do like Sarah Brightman so if you avoid the annoying American presenters hope you enjoy this offering
I have a list as long as my arm to get through this week so I shall be rationing my time spent on here. Yes, honest
Got leek and potato soup in SC from last night so need to whizz that to smooth, put BM on, put vac round and get cracking with my jobs.
Tea tonight is chicken, leek and mustard saute, not made it before so I hope it's as nice as it sounds
Halight - My DD saw Father Christmas on Friday at soft play. When being asked about it by her dad she didn't seem to understand so I tried to prompt a response by saying "who did you see in the red suit today?"............"IRON MAN" came the reply :rotfl::rotfl:
sistercas - hope you're feeling more yourself soon. Perhaps just tidy a little bit, rest a bit and so on xx
tru - glad you can manage to lift a cuppa, that's the most important thing :rotfl:

Morning All!
Another cold one out there! OH and I were up early to take back the van that we'd borrowed yesterday, quite icy on some of the side roads but at least the main ones had been gritted. Very slippy on my walk in to work, nearly went over twice, managed to get in in one piece although a little late
Annoyed with myself as I forgot my lunch today, I was going to have yesterdays left overs and I was so looking forward to them! Oh well, will have to make do with shop bought something or other
Have to change the bed this evening and finish putting up the Christmas decs, got most things up yesterday just short of a few bits which I'll have to buy from Wilko or somewhere. Also need to do my reading for Uni tomorrow so quite a busy evening, will try and squeeze in a viewing of Elf or something else Christmassy! I love this time of year! :xmassmile:xmastree:
Have a great day folks, wrap up warm!0 -
Morning all on this bright, crisp morning.
The snow is now ice and treacherous. Both schools open today. I had a Doctors appointment so DH took DS3 to school and me to the surgery. She has given me a sicknote for another 4 weeks.:eek: I was hoping to go back after this week but she said it would be miraculous if I managed it. I know deep inside I'm not recovered but I love my job and I am desperate to go back. I think she is thinking that I might be a bit optimistic opting for physiotherapy rather than an operation, but I would rather give it a go.

On a more positve note, WM on (couldn't manage to load it a few weeks ago) TD on.
Braising steak leftover from yesterday for tea with proper chips
Take care everyone especially if you are suffering with aching, bruised muscles and bones.

Morning everybody, hope your aches and pains are improving.
We've had a sprinkle of snow earlier, still very slippy but not as bad as yesterday.DH put some grit along the drive, across the road and pavement so I can reach the field across hopefully without falling, when me and the dog go out.Managed it this morning, but I'm on edge really-he's such a big fella that if he pulled on his lead at all,I'd be on me @r*e
All my menfolk are out today,DS1 hasnt much freelance work on at the moment so is giving his Dad and bro a hand as they are starting a new job making some offices in a factory, which is empty (and freezing)They've gone off with packed lunches and a flask,as DH doesn't think there is any water on.
I want to make the most of an empty house,so once my cuppa is done I'm off here, and like you Bitsy am going to ration 'puter time,I know its my biggest timewaster
I've got leftover chicken and roasties from yesterday, but as DS2 cant eat that ,I'll have to find something else for him.Still a bit of apple pie left, but not enough for 4-shall I be noble and let them have it?I'll whizz some soup up in a bit for my dinner, with the chicken stock.I also got 2 biggish butternuts in @ldi yesterday as part of their super 6-at 69p each,so a good buy.
Right tea finished so off I go-have a good day.x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Hi everyone. I've not been on here for a while, so I hope you are all OK.
It's been a strange few weeks. My sister's husband has been in hospital for the last three and a half weeks and, sadly, he may not have a lot of time left. The doctors have found what they call an 'inoperable mass' on his liver but they haven't been able to do a biopsy, because they think it's too dangerous. They will go ahead with chemo but, meanwhile, he needs to put back on the three stone he has lost, and build himself up for it. We are all hoping that the lump is benign, but there's no way of knowing just yet. The doctors finally allowed him back home yesterday, which was a great relief to everyone.
On a brighter note, it's my DS2's 29th birthday today. I only wish I was there in person, but at least I have Skype and will be able to talk to him later on.
I'm sorry the weather is still so bad over there. It's still cold here but not actually freezing, and we've had lots of rain. I just wish we could all get some sun!
Dinner tonight is easy - left over chicken stew with chips. I've done a smallish pile of ironing, and I just have a few more chores to do, then I shall get on with sorting out the Christmas presents.
I hope you all have a good day.

just had to rescue ds from a toppling tree... going to have to rethink of where to put it"I have learnt that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one""You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”Maya Angelou0 -
Morning Everyone,
Cold freezing fog here today, not nice at all
Actually went out yesterday for the 1st time in over a week. We had a big family dinner at MIL's, sort of a pre christmas do & very nice it was too. I always think food tastes so much better when you don't have to cook it yourself:). Discovered that my BIL's relatively new gf has a charming 11 yr old daughter who was very good with our 2yr old twin nephew & niece so will have to have a rummage to see if I have something suitable as a small christmas present for her.
Only 1 disappointment this weekend, got the voucher out of the paper for the free scarf which would have been ideal for MIL's partner, unfortunately DD was unable to get to Bluewater so couldn't get it:( oh well will have to think of something else.
OS, have got a loaf proving in the kitchen, wm has been on & washing is on the airer in the bath. Roast with all the trimmings tonight as DD & DS missed out yesterday & this week DP has won a leg of pork & some morrocan style lamb on the meat raffle;) which he has gone to pick up after dropping DD at work. DS has gone o school after a week off so have the house to myself for a bit so am off to make some christmas cards for my family as we're going to Gosport at the weekend:j
Hugs, hi5's & spoons all round x
Keep warm & safe x
