Santa leaves the big, main present that they ask for and a stocking for the kids.
We give the kids a few 'middle value' presents but there is alomst always one that isn't as expensive as santa's present but is quite large.
The problem i have is six months down the line when I end up telling them I bought them something and they correct me and tell me it wasn't me, it was Santa.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Santa brings a few presents & the stocking for my girls. We read who each present is from so they (we) know who to thank.
I think it is important that children know that people have thought about them & brought them presents.
My eldest (age 6) is going to be disappointed this year. She wrote her letter to Santa early the other morning & brought it into our room to show us, she wants a scooter with makeup under it & some makeup....we already have scooters so I am not going to get another. I think Santa will be writing her a letter to explain that he only has so many of each item & they all had to go to children who did not already have a scooter
Can you not steer her thinking? I have to do it with my DD as she always seems to come up with things that don't exist.
I'll tell her if I don't think Santa can magic something up and then I'll sit down with a catalogue or even in a shop I'll start singing the praises of something wonderful that might be more appropriate. So far, I've managed to steer her thinking each time.
She's asked in her letter for something that stopped being sold about 2 weeks ago (wall) so I'm going to have to try and steer her to something from the same shop - so I've picked up a gift guide, showed her and she's already pointing to something else. So I just need to reinforce that idea!
Plus, we send a final list up the chimney on Christmas Eve so that Santa gets it right!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Just wondering.....
My son has written his list. I have bought everything he asked for but I am wondering if you guys say its all off santa or off you as parents?
Its just I have worked hard for the money for presents & Im getting a bit fed up of Santa getting all the bloody praise!!!!
My friend just gives her children a few games & a tangerine off Santa & she gives them the rest.
Unsure!!!
What do you guys do?
I select a mid-range present from each their lists and it goes under the tree from 'Mum and Dad' - these are opened after Christmas Dinner (spreads things out a bit) along with presents from people who we won't see on the actual day but who have sent a gift. One friend used to put everything on the pile from 'Santa': meant she didn't have to buy much herself, but I think it's nice if children know who things are really from so they can say thank you.
My MIL used to say that Santa had left gifts at her house for them, but again, I asked her not to say that so the kids knew could appreciate that she had bought them. Plus, everyone knows Santa only comes to one place you stayCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. When we were kids any presents that had been bought for us by relatives and friends went under the tree before Christmas day, and we knew who these were from. Our stockings and any other presents were all from the man himself, but we knew that our parents had had a chat with him to arrange things!Don't suffer alone - if you are experiencing Domestic Abuse contact the National Domestic Abuse Helplines

My brother and I always get presents from Santa, and we're 26 and 22. Funnily enough my Gran and Grandpa have never got us anything
. They may just be small things like gloves and socks but I hope it stays that way.
This is what I now do for friends and their kids, they love having something from Santa on the day. Keep them believing while you can0 -
we were never taught to believe in santa (or any religion for that matter), so all our presents were from our parents.0

Santa fills her stocking.... the rest is from me. I agree with some of the other posters, because I work darn hard to ensure she has a fantastic Christmas, so I'm taking the credit! LOL x0

Santa gives the presents in the stocking - and only brings something special if letters are written. This is an uphill task as my children refuse to write things!Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Santa brings everything in my house, apart from gifts from relatives. My younger two are still full believers in Santa claus and i like it like that. Christmas becomes magical. They know mum wraps the boxes to save santa from weighing down his sleigh with wrapping and he magically fills the boxes when he pops down the chimney. Eldest knows its mum in fact he helps me bring everything down xmas eve night in preparation.Sometimes i like to imagine that im living on the breadline as a single mum with 3 children to feed and clothe, bills to pay and very little time to myself........ then i wake up and realise im a princess with prince charming by my side and a lovely white castle........ oh wait
