    Morning everyone,

I couldn't get a dr or MW appointment today but they got my GP to give me a quick call this morning. I listened to baby on my doppler last night and this morning and his heart beat is fine and he's moving as normal so GP said he sounds fine. I asked if I could take any painkillers other than paracetamol and he said co-codamol would be my best bet at the moment. Luckily had some in the cupboard anyway so I'm dosed up and feeling a bit better. Also going to have a physio referral done at my next MW appointment on 21st.

I had Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction really badly when i was last pregnant but seem to have avoided it so far this time apart from the odd niggle, but I think falling may have triggered it again. I was expecting to have it from the start so to get to 23 and a bit weeks without is a bonus really. By 16 weeks with Daisy I was on crutches all the time, and in a wheelchair from 30 weeks. Just hoping it doesn't get that bad again! I was taking codeine from 30 weeks too so I'm really going to do my best to avoid that this time as it made me feel awful.

We got a taxi to school this morning and I got a lift home so no more falling here!

Gentle flying again today, hopefully more successfully than yesterday - I ended up watching Corrie in bed on ITV Player by 9.30 :D I'm going to do a HHC in the living room to make space for the Christmas tree now, and check to see if I bought any wrapping paper in the sales last year before I buy some more - I can't remember!

Anyone know how to get the shine back on a pair of patent shoes?

DS2 polished his with standard shoe polish and they don't look right.

Not sure but would baby wipes get it off and shine them up?

  • Have unexpectidly looked after my friends little girl this morning. lovely little thing, made herself at home by sitting at my table eating from the tin of Roses!!!!!!
Anyway this means I've done nothing but living room looks like a scene after a hurricane has been through.
I NEED a shower. Was going to have one earlier before the older 2 went to school so they could keep an eye on the baby. Will have to have one when he's asleep. This means I won't be able to do the stuff I normally do when he's sleeping!
Will strip & remake my bed & sort out the bedroom. After taking out my wardrobe, room looks like a bombsite.

Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.

    Good morning everyone!
Well, I think I'm on a cooking mission today. I need to make some more curry base for the freezer and also some Sphag Bol base. We got through a lot of the freezer supplies when we were all ill a couple of weeks ago.
Vanilla I can't add any more to what the others have said, except (and I really hope you don't mind me saying this) that she seems very very dependent on you, ie sucking you in to her problems. While this is fine in some ways, in my opinion, it's completely wrong of her to put you in this very awkward position, and impose upon you in this way. You are clearly very capable and kind, and helpful, and it seems to me she is taking advantage of this. I hope you don't mind me saying so dearie, I just wouldn't want to see you caught up and taking responsibility for something she should be facing (albeit with your support) herself.
Seafarers I'm with the broken record technique too, and also I wonder whether it would help to mentally distance yourself from what she is saying. She's out of order, but it's a difficult one when it's family or soon to be family and the repercussions could go on for years.
I spend a lot of time nodding, smiling and then just doing what me and DH please because living above MIL's shop with DH working there, and also me employing FIL for our festival means we have a lot of contact with them. We have been through some very difficult times working together in the past, and in many ways still are having difficulties as they are both very controlling of DH re the shop and in his personal life, and of me in other ways. I've done the angry thing to no effect whatsoever, even when they were in the wrong. It was a therapist that told me about the broken record technique, and subsequently (I'm sure) saved me from breaking down completely over their various issues, and my own stubbornness when it came to "doing the right thing".
Of course, I often forget it, and get myself wound up, especially at busy times, or when I'm depressed and can't see us moving forward, because in many ways I won't go into, they have and continue to behave appallingly, and I get frustrated, but the two techniques that have been helpful are the broken record one, and also mentally distancing myself from what they are saying/doing.
I hope someone will remind me to do this when inevitably, I end up posting my own rant about them, as sometimes I need a good mule up the bum to remind me!

Really hope you guys aren't offended by my posting, but your posts really jumped out at me. <<hugs>> to you both.
