Pasted from Separate Thread (didn't see this one before)!

I'd be grateful for clarification on the Bills that I'd need to send in for 2 new contracts from OSPS and E2save taken out recently. The cashback terms specify Bills 4, 8 and 12, but this doesn't seem to fit into the suggested examples shown in the E2save "reference chart" in the welcome pack.

The details are as follows (same for both contracts):

    Invoice/Order Date: 24/10/06
Normal Billing Date : 13th Monthly
    First Bill Date : 13/11/06

    Therefore, Bill 4 = 13/02/07
    Bill 8 = 13/06/07
    Bill 12 = 13/10/07

However, the grid in the E2save paperwork suggests that for Contracts ordered in October, the relevant bills for months 4,8 and 12 would be those produced in January(ie. 13/01/07), May (13/05/07), and September (13/09/07).

I'm confused So for anyone whose navigated the E2save/OSPS system successfully, I'd appreciate guidance on what I need to do. I've tried calling Customer Services but had to give up after being on hold for over 20 mins. I'll try again but it'd be useful to get some info before I speak to them.

Just to bring this thread back to life, my bills are coming in dated the 19th and my connection date was the 17th october but bills not being recd till about 22/23, so the guess was that i send in januarys bill by special delivery to be recd by osps on the 17th as that bill will be due to expire on the 19th:confused:

    OK I need help please!

    connection 18th Sept
4 months later is 18th Jan so I can now claim my month 4 cashback

The 4th Bill is dated 19 December but I now have the 5th Bill dated 19th Jan so do I send the December one or the up to date one?

    Dead confusing this!

    Cheers for any help...

It is not confusing if you just follow OSPS's policy. First of all forget the date of the bill dictating when you send your cashback. It goes on the date of connection so after 4 months you can then send it in. You then send in the nearest bill to that date you have. Simple as that.
I hope this helps. I sent OSPS an email some time ago to clarify the position as posters were debating this.

Oldgold, can you just confirm for me which bill I need to send in. The dates are as follows:

Connection Date: 21 October 2006 (Edit: should actually be 21 September 2006 but won't change as may confuse subsequent posts)
Bill Dates: 24 of each month.

So on 21 Jan, when the eligibility for month 4 came in, the last bill that was issued on 24 December was 28 days old so too old as far as OSPS are concerned. Therefore do I have to send in the bill dated 24 January instead, which is the most recent bill I have received, as long as I send in the claim within the 30 day eligibility period?

Would it cause any problems if I included both bills just to make sure?

    Thanks,

I can only quote what they have told me so by that if you sent in the Dec bill that should be okay. As it is so near and you wanted to send in both I cannot see any problem but then these companies are funny.
Mine is due any time from 28th so I must send it away first thing Monday morning as usually I leave things to the last moment.
  • Wow what a great thread! :rotfl:

Ok, I would say most posters have one thing correct:

    1) You look at the date of connection (eg 17th October) and add on 4 months for your first claim period. In this case, you would have between 17th February and 17th March to send in your claim.

Then the next bit is open to interpretation, people have different views. I have used my method for a few years now without a problem.

    2) You want to send in the bill that is closest to your 4 months of connection. This tells OSPS that you must have been connected to your tariff for the required time.
You should pick the bill that is closest to the 4 month date (17th Feb in this case). If you receive a bill through the post on 15th Feb for instance, then send this one, as if you wait until the next you'll miss your period. And if you are due a bill on the 21st Feb, then wait for that one. As it'll be the most recent bill and you'll still have stacks of time to send it in.

There we go, simple! I am sure there are some cases where you would be safe to send in either bill :T
