Thanks for that.

It transpires that the phone is already unlocked to other networks (such as T-mobile) but when I put my 3 contract sim card in it says Incompatible Handset and then 'phone restricted'. It then asks me for a restriction code. Any ideas?

3 sim wont work on this model - and if you find a non 3 model it does work on they will prob block you sim

your codes were correct (only need code 1 on voda)
have you tried another sim in the phone to make sure phone is ok?
no chance phone is barred is there?
