Insert a WRONG sim card, one that doesn’t work in your phone. When it says phone restricted, press ‘undo’. It will ask you for a restriction code, and input the code into the box on the screen.

the 6280 can only be unlocked by 3

OK have an alledgedly unlocked 6230 here and I can put my sim in fine, but I get "sim card registration failed" when I try to use it?
Is this likely to be fixed by getting someone with a cable to deal with it, or is this gonna be a call to the original network provider and trying to get them to ensure it's not "lost or stolen"?
