The camera ia £115 (£120.17 with P+P) at my cameras 2006 (http://www.mycameras2006.com/myshop/product_info.php?products_id=112!!34}66)
At jesops it is £219.99
So it seems that i could get the camera from jessops for £110.20?
Does this seem right to everyone and have you seen it cheaper anywhere else?
Also does the company only have to be UK based if its highstreet and so although this place is based in Asia it is ok as it is online?
Thanks in advance.
In theory I have heard they add on the cost of p&p before making the price difference - just to warn you if you give it a try.0 -
went into jessops bluewater last week looking for a pricematch on a specialist canon macro lens - jessop price £719 expansys £615 they didnt have one, no surprise as it is a specialist item, but could get one in a week and were willing to pricematch on receipt of a website printout.
Got a call from jessops yesterday to say the lens had turned up, so i made a 40 mile round trip to bluewater only to be told they now wouldnt pricematch as the item was not in stock at expansys but was special order, the fact that it was not on stock at jessops and required a special order a week ago when they offered to pricematch did not seem to cut any ice with the manager. they did offer to pricematch with warehouse who had the lens for £719. When i told them they had got me there on false pretences the manager then said as of yesterday (fri) he was no longer allowed to pricematch!
As to store expertise, the staff member 'demonstrating' the lens had absolutely no ideahow to use it and was unable to attach it to a camera. There used to be a time when jessops was staffed by enthusiastic photographers, sadly that is no longer the case.
Over the years i have spent in excess of 10k with jessops but not anymore, i have just placed orders to the value of £2700 with AJ Purdy and will not be returning to jessops.0 -
Overheard in Jessops today that there was an urgent memo from HO two days ago to stop the price matches in all stores... the assistant told them to buy from cameras2u as they're the same company.Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0

Went to Jessops, weston super mare today (12 miles) to pick up my canon selphy es1 printer i reserved last week armed with my print outs to get a price match. Was told they had a phone call friday saying no longer price match items. Not happy, i could have driven to Bristol insted to bristol cameras and got it £65 cheapher (only another 8 miles for me)!!!0

!!!!!!. I intended to pick the camera I'm getting for Xmas and get it price matched. Put off online ordering because of this and now the idots have changed the policy ALREADY? I thought it was too good to be true. I hope they don't sell one damn camera if this is what has happened.0

As said above, pricematching has been stopped (though they wouldn't price match a foreign company anyway.. do you think anyone would? we'd all be price matching the states where everything is way cheaper)
However i wouldn't touch mycameras2006 with a bargepole, as you know they're in malasia, firstly good luck if it doesn't turn up/arrives broken/goes wrong, and secondly your guarantee will AFAIK not be valid in the UK.0 -

'we only price match on SLRs'
not impressed... didnt buy from them (did buy a camera bag though cos that seemed quite good value)
Try these out, I have bought SD cards from this company and are loads cheaper than Jessops and delivery is quick

Does anybody know if Jessops are still pricematching? If so does it apply to sale items?0
