I was clocked at 39mph in a 30 zone............. whats the chances of getting off the points by having to do a driver awareness course? (and in that case, no points = nothing to tell insurer?)

Different police have different criteria - so always hope.

Let us know which police are doing you to see if there are any known criteria.

(You'll find out in their reply once you've sent in the admission it was you)

There may be a chance - on pepipoo they report Sussex police limit being 10% + 9, though no specific criteria for the west sussex sp.

    I've been given the choice.

I can pay £85 and go on a Speed Awareness Course, or £60 and get 3 points.

Should take you long to decide, but.

I've got my fingers crossed there was no film in the camera, I really cant afford a £60 fine right now...

    Do you have £85 now?

    Break out the creditcard.

Luckily, I've discovered £200 in a savings account that I thought was empty :D

it really is a no brainer. 2 insurance companies who both charge £20 for an ammendment means that if I went down the points route it would cost me £100 + the increased premium

^^ better turn all dual carriageways into single lane roads then, as by this standard the right hand lane should never be used......
