i'd be quite surprised if they are inspecting all individual applications to any detailed level, given the number of applicants and roles to fill. my guess would be siftability score + e-learning score as a first filter, ranking everyone within area, and a closer inspection of the top scores within each area.0 -
Am I the only person still not to hear anything??? It feels like it.0

I just rang the telephone number I have for the Census saying that I gave up a job to start work with them today, the lady looked into it and apparently my status had not yet been set to "hired" and so the Coordinator hadn't been able to contact me!
She said that she would set me status to hired and I'll hear from my Coordinator tomorrow.
I asked if I would be paid today and she said that I would be paid for the hours that I've been contracted for. Hmmm..
Anyway may be worth a call if you haven't heard anything perhaps?0 -
No you are not alone - I've not heard a thing either - it is pathetic!
I've just had this reply to my email
Thank you for your email and your continuing interest in the 2011 Census.
Collectors will commence employment in 2 batches on the following dates:
• 21 March
• 6 April
We are dealing with large numbers of applications and we have to make sure that all candidates have been assessed fairly for a role on the census. This takes time, and we are unable to notify candidates if they have been successful until all eligible candidates who have applied for the respective roles have been assessed. This has resulted in candidates who were interviewed early in the recruitment process having a longer wait to discover if they have been successful.
Candidates are ranked in merit order, and offers to commence employment on 21 March have been made to those with the highest ranking. We are still processing results from remaining candidates and will shortly be making offers to those who have been successful in securing a role to commence on 6 April. Please continue to monitor your email and census jobs account.
Kind regards,
Census Recruitment Team

hello, i started yesterday. it wasn't easy at all. there were three times when i called capita up, firstly because they said they would send emails to me regarding the scotland disclosure forms (then didn't) and the second because after classroom training i did not receive an offer.
it is important, if you are waiting on an offer and have completed the classroom training, to call capita and ask them if there is anything further you can do. (i tried emailing but didn't ever get a response). when i called i was told that the trainer had told them (incorrectly) that i had not handed over all my id's and taken photocopies of them. i challenged this and they told me to wait as they had to raise the issue and contact the trainer. in my opinion, if i had not called they would not have contacted me, i just would never have been employed. i had to call them again the next day to ensure it was recorded from my first call and was being actioned. i received the offer after doing this.
yesterday when i went to collect my things from my coordinator it was chaos. half the forms had not been delivered to him, and he had not received my ID. subsequently i have had to visit addresses with a blank i.d card. i kid you not i have to flash a white piece of plastic with no name or photo on it!! mostly i am picking up forms from business properties, this is already proving problematic as i have been told to collect the forms back but most of the businesses claim they were told to dispose of them?!!? they are also spaced really far apart making it difficult to plan the most economical routes!
it's going to be a long few weeks i think!!0 -
I know when we did the training the woman from Holiday Inn was collecting all the forms from us instead of the trainer and at least 5 of them hadn't taken either the originals or copies of the documents or both so there still might be a fair bit to chase up and what have you.:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one
