I applied for a CCS (Census Coverage Survey) Team Manager role on 4 Jan and heard today I've got a telephone interview on Saturday 26 Feb. Has anyone had a tel interview for this role please?
• Hi, I got my classroom training today, it is over 100 miles away and involves getting 2 buses, 2 trains and a taxi, this is going to cost £80 at the cheapest. Do they pay your travel expenses. has any one else had to go so far?
• Has anyone got the telephone number to ring, I can't find it.

They will pay expenses, I believe only if you take up the job (I think they are paid in the first weeks wages). If you do the training and then for whatever reason fail to take up the job, I don't think you will get paid. Make sure you keep all your reciepts/tickets etc as you will need them to prove your claim.

Oh and I knew someone that had to go from Northumbria to London (about 700 mile round trip) for their training but that was for a supervisor role.

I had my telephone interview for collector on December 17th and still not heard anything. Did phone up and they said the closing date keeps getting put back, and that I will hear but definitely nowhere near the 2-3 weeks I was told.

Can't remember how many hours I said I could do or which time period. Don't feel too hopeful about it tbh but we shall see
• When I tried finding out if I had the role or not (and this was on the 13th December) I e-mailed 2011census.sourcing.c@ons.gsi.gov.uk and within 4 days got an e-mail to say that subject to references etc that I would get the post, so it might be worth dropping them an e-mail to check.

I got an e-mail for the background check application form yesterday, so it looks like i might get it in the end, but its all really time consuming

Thanks for the email address - I have emailed them and will see what they say.

Thanks for the email address, if I ahven't ehard by middle of next week when the 3 weeks are up I will email them.
