Anyone else waiting around to be given work from their manager for the CCS Interviewer job? Twiddling my fingers for the past couple of days!
Also I thought this week and next was supposed to be 15 contracted hours?
This weeks timesheet is showing 25 contracted hours, I've asked if this is a mistake and my manager just says he is looking into it
Mine shows 15 hours.
Have you really gone around all of your properties and got a response at each of them?? We're still chasing around 30. We're walking slowly though.0 -
I've got a road of bedsits NO ONE gets through the door of some unless you have a special knock (if you know what I mean) still It could kill off a few minutes!!0
-
Yeah my colleague and I have visited every property probably over 10 times now.. got a few refusals, turned some around into interviews..
Now we are down to the always out/TV on not answering/lights on but never answer/on holiday lot!
Only 10 properties in a very small area does not take many minutes!
Yeah Thanet62 I know what you mean about those 'special knock' properties.. perhaps you could memorise and reproduce the knock? :rotfl: if you're feeling brave!0 -

These few properties that need a "special" knock can take the best part of a morning to enter, they are hardly going to sack you if it takes you 15 hrs to learn that "knock".
Tomorrow I will have to make a 80 mile round trip to visit 5 properties- it will take 45 mins to get there and another 45 return. 30 minutes to visit all the empty holiday lets. For that I will be paid £4 salary (taxable) and £32 petrol (non taxable). I can either stay on location for a couple of hrs and do 2 or 3 visits- (on site is a 15 mile route) or come back again in the afternoon and knock again.
I know that all the owners live abroad and will not be coming back any time soon but they may be let sometime in half term. If a holiday maker answers the door how do I complete the questionnaire as they are not the usual residents and weren't at the property on census day?
What do I do if if the real owner is at the property doing admin but lives overseas, and was out of country during the census?0 -
Hey,
I worked as a Census Enumerator for a few weeks but was unable to do the non-compliance roles because it clashed with my exams. Now my exams are over, I'm interested in finding out if there might be any more work going with the census. Anyone know if it's worth getting in touch about it?
Thanks!0 -
HI everyone,
I've only just found this thread whilst googling to find out how to access the extranet site.
Without giving too much info I need to access the grievance procedure information. My grievance is with my team manager so I cannot ask her for a password and the area manager has not responded to me.
Any suggestions?

BTW I apologise for only having read the last few messages but there are so many and so little time.
minicooper272 - don't bother, we are due to finish next week and it takes so long for capita to organise everything its not worth it.
Thanet 62 - regarding special knock properties, stalk the postman. Ask him if he knows how to get hold of the occupiers. We found three properties on our patch that were unlocked for an hour every morning to allow the postie to get in to the communal part of the building.0 -
On the final lap of what has to have been the most pointless, frustrating fruit loop job I have ever undertaken. I really can't get my head around just how much a months work has cost to facilitate and at the end of the day for what? Census Coverage Survey. Thank you for the money but I do feel like I have been sweeping leaves in a force 10 gale. Just been told to go out and revisit a house I know is empty AGAIN. Just goes to prove most statisticians just sit in darkened rooms all day and who's only concept of real life revolves around a box being ticked and the correct highlighter pen utilised to its maximum effect.
Oh and to whoever lives at Number 15 I can see your curtains twitching I KNOW YOUR IN THERE!!! I WILL BE BACK (at least another 5 times).0 -
Just had a text asking if anyone in the team was interested in extending our contracts! The sooner I distance myself from this whole farcical shambles the better.0

I don't think they'll be offering to extend my contract .....0

Thats it my time is done they can go forth and multiply. 3 weeks of this crap. Final straw today (SUNDAY) dinner on guests arriving. TM rings insisting on a list of refusals so they can be revisited. Also wants a list of all outstanding properties (curtain twitchers, always outs, brothels and crack dens) so SOMEONE ELSE can call round they will still be out as they were every bloody day last week (twice). I hate this feeling that somehow I have failed not only on taking NO to mean NO but for somehow not having a magic wand to make people appear at the door. I had planned to do a final trawl of addresses on Mon/Tues, might do a bit in the garden instead. Have a good Bank Holiday everyone!0
