Making Queen of Puddings with garlic breadcrumbs from the freezer. Not a good combo.

Cutting something when sewing and taking the front of my skirt with it. :rotfl:

New Combi micro...the first one, chicken kiev's got microwaved for 20 mins. House was full of smoke. Second new combi, I got the setting wrong for rice and melted my very large tupperware jug with a lid when doing rice.

Errrrm, sure there are a lot more....

  • Not having Cointreau in for a dinner party recipe just after we were married - so I used Blue Bols instead for the same flavour. Unfortunately it dyed the chicken an interesting blue/ green colour - which I had to serve as there was nothing else.

  • OH cooked christmas dinner this year and all was going well until I went into the kitchen to find OH trying to sneak the plastic bag of giblets out of a beautifully cooked turkey :D

This would not be spectacular until you consider that OH is a Head Chef!

A work colleague gave us all the recipe for some lovely soup she made over the weekend. It involved 3 packets of noodles, chicken, stock, veg etc. A few of us made it with different results, mine turned out ok, another colleague was complaining about how she wasn't a good cook and hers was a bit runny, while the last colleague said hers was lovely and she could stand a spoon in hers, we were all a bit confused until we found out she had used 3 packs of SuperNoodles, we found this hilarious but we were all on the floor when she told us she had used the powder from the noodles in the soup too as she thought that was the stock:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    My recent 'thrifty' disaster.................

Having splashed out on a coffee in a takeaway cup from Neros, I only managed to drink half, so brought the rest home for later.

Put said coffee, in the takeaway cardboard cup, in microwave to heat up & wandered off for a minute or so. Came back only to notice the cup had caught fire & was sparking & smouldering in a spectacular fashion. Whipped it out, saved coffee, transferred to china cup, & 'down the hatch', yum!

Friday 4 dinner guests, showing off my Remoska. The chicken dinner was a great success then in my deep pan I put in Bramley apples stuffed with butter & sugar. Opened 20 mins later to exploded pulp. I picked all the peel out and spooned into cocktail glasses and topped with cream & almonds. It looked a bit mean so I shoved leftover Chrismas shortbread on the plates. Note always wrap apples in foil in future.

I've NEVER done that ;) I've also NEVER stitched myself into a leotard when I was sewing 'spots' on it, NEVER knitted my hair or clothing into my latest project, and I've NEVER EVER superglued my hands to anything. Not once ;)

Ok please tell me that someone else has had some OS disasters!

I have been trying so hard to make my hubby just a little more OS and so far thought it was all wasted on him. I have been reading the 'Sneaky ways to save the pennies' thread and thought it would be a great idea to add just a little water to the fabric conditioner.

So DH thought he was being super helpful by putting some washing on. He added fabric conditioner and thought to himself..........whats wrong with that, its very watery. Thinking I would be really impressed he went online, found the customer services email address and sent them an email complaining about the fabric conditioner!! Aggghhhhh!!!! How embarassed am I?! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Have been sat here all night wondering whether I should own up!! HaHa!

What do you think?! Own up or keep quiet?!
Its hard to wait around for that something you know may never happen, but its harder to give up when you know its everything you ever wanted.........

People tell me Im going the wrong way..............when its simply a way of my own!
